Ex-Zar just stood there, his black and gold Royal Guard helmet under his arm. He walked up the ramp and stood far enough down the ramp that he was eye level with her. Bowing low he grabbed her hand and kissed it in a gentlemans greeting, and said, "I'm sorry, I know this is free space, but I have to look after my men, and their families. There's been increased pirate activity in the region, and since we are the Imperial Remnant group known as the Disbanded, we have no restrictions on our actions from any governments. So to put it in simple terms, I did it assuming you were a pirate" he said casualy. "As for a mother, you're right, I never did have one, but was raised to be a gentleman, none-the-less. So, may I board your ship? With your permission of coarse. Hm, yes, and can I say, I like'um crazy!" He said this with a rye smile, and a light in his bright, beutiful eyes. At that point he had walked further up the ramp, and had been standing only half an arms length away from her while he said this. But he showed no intention of going further, only the intention of hearing a response.

"But in you...I see the potential to see the Force die, to turn away from its will..."
"You are beautiful to me, exile. A dead spot in the Force, an emptiness in which its will might be denied."
"But no Jedi ever made the choice you did. To sever ties so completely, so utterly, that it leaves a wound in the Force..."
"I would have killed the galaxy to preserve you...You are more precious than you know..."-now...it's verbatim!-A quote from Darth Traya (Kreia)

Luke sat in his chamber, his legs folded in the standard meditation position. He allowed the Force to flow through him freely, immersing himself in it. As he bathed in the power of the mysterious energy field, he felt it ripple ever so slightly.

He opened his eyes, still immersed in the Force. He reached out towards the source of the disturbance...

His heart leapt into his throat. It couldn't be... after all these years.. after all that he had done... why would he return?

Rising from the meditative state faster than was wise, he stood, moving towards the comm panel.

"Yes, Master?"

"I'm going out for a bit," said Skywalker, throwing his cloak around his shoulders. "I have... personal matters to attend to."

Va’ala stared at her hand, and then at Ex-Zar without expression. “Pirates. You don't say."

She carefully leaned back and looked over her shoulder though the open doorway of the Reiver, where from her position, she could just barely see Krell standing in the threshold between the cargo bay and the main hold, both of his pistols drawn and ready. She assumed that Wabacca and the rest of the crew were similarly armed. Except for Bob, of course. It was practically suicide giving him a weapon. Even safety knives were a dodgy deal in his hands. Probably not a good idea to have this stranger board her ship at the present moment. No matter how gentle he had kissed her hand.

“Can’t say that we’ve been bothered by any pirates,” she continued, turning back to face Ex-Zar. “Besides, they wouldn’t bother with such a small freighter like ours anyway. Isn’t that right, Krell?” she called over her shoulder.

“Right.”

She still hadn’t moved to let Ex-Zar pass. “See, we don’t have really anything that any pirate would want. No food. No water. No droid parts. Just salvage… really. Bits and… Bob’s. Not much interest to anyone. Especially pirates.” She gave him a quick grin. “So, you see, there’s no real reason to board us, is there?”

“Cap’n,” said the voice of Krell from inside the ship. “Isn’t interdicting a ship, and then pulling it into yer hold a bit like piracy? Well, I mean, when you ain't got the legal right from any government anyway."

Va'ala raised an agreeing brow. "Ye-ss," she replied to Krell slowly, although keeping her eyes on Ex-Zar. "That's pretty much the definition I’ve always heard." She looked at Ex-Zar. "So, Mr…whatever your name is… are you a pirate?"

"Haha, well, that makes me laugh!" said Ex-Zar smiling at the quirky woman. "Ah, well, I'll be a pirate if you want me to be one. I'll pirate you away to, where ever you want. I'll accomodate for my rude behavior, how about staying on the ship, full suite, while we ferry you somewhere?" he asked her with a kind smile. "So, to answer your question, I'd say, yes, I am a pirate, one who looks out for the wellfare of his men, and their families" he said answering her question in a fuller spectrum. He then lightly put his hand on her shoulder, but didnt grab her shoulder, he turned a bit and extended his hand outward, and motioned across the shipbay, saying, "what do you say? Would you like to stay, it's cozy. And you'd be treated with the best guest rooms, along with food service and everything. But if you dont want to, well that's too bad, because, we still need to confirm your ships hold. If you stay, at least you'll get good room, good food, and you'll be transported to where ever you ask." He turned back waiting for a response, studying her eyes with a skilled measure.

Jakyl approached Yavin 4 with a feeling of vague apprehension.

Why am I so nervous? she thought. It's just a short trip to visit an old friend. She breathed deeply, trying to calm herself, but the feeling remained. I really need to relax.

"Yavin 4, this is Jakyl in the Solar Wind," she transmitted. "I'd really appreciate it if you'd let me land at the Jedi Temple. If you have any trouble remembering who I am, ask Master Skywalker."

"Master Skywalker is currently busy. However, I do remember you, especially your unique method of getting landing permission. You're supposed to request an approach vector."

"Whatever," muttered Jakyl.

"Transmitting the approach vector now."

Jakyl tried again to relax, again with unsuccessful results. Just like old times, she thought, as she set the ship down.

Va’ala hesitated. Obviously, this individual was going to be trouble for her. Invitation or not, luxurious or not, a cage was still a cage, even if it was gilded. And if anything, Va’ala was a free spirit.

“Confirm our hold? Like, what… inspect it?” she asked. She balked at the idea and her green eyes shifted from Ex-Zar to the ship and back. “It’s… erm, not very tidy at the moment. You see, I’ve got sort of an aversion for empty horizontal flat surfaces. And, we’ve got a Wookiee.”

Oh, good grief! That sounds like such like a lame excuse! she thought. And I hope to the Black Stars Wabacca didn’t hear that.

“And, besides, I’m not much for organisation or documentation,” she continued. “Not that you get any with salvage anyway….”

Especially when you salvage it from someone else’s ship…

“So, you see, there really wouldn’t be any way to confirm our cargo.” She grinned. “So there’s really no point for you to inspect it, right?”

She knew that her excuses weren’t going to fly with this guy. But, she’d been around the Galaxy enough to sense that he really didn’t mean them any harm. Well, not as much harm as the Imperial Remnant would have dished out. Besides, he had a big fleet. Maybe it might be advantageous to ally with this one. Perhaps the Disbanded group he ran was more like the Lok Revanants on Naboo. And she got along with them alright. Normally.

She just hoped that Krell was reading her delaying tactics for what they were, and was figuring out a way to explain away their cargo of Lugjack machines, destined for a Nar Shaddaa crime lord’s new cantina.

"Ooh!" Eagle exclaimed as they came out of hyperspace near Yavin IV. "I haven't seen so many ships in one place since... well, since before you were born, little Kat."

"Well don't start introducing yourself," Kat warned. "You know these newer ships aren't quite as friendly as you'd like them to be. They'll probably take your intro for an intrusion and set off warning sirens."

"Ships definitely have changed over the years," Eagle lamented. "Ah! We've been given permission to land... or I suppose you could stick me in orbit and take the shuttle, but..."

"I know, I know," Kat interrupted quickly. "You hate being left in space. Land as you were told to."

Eagle obediently dropped into Yavin IV's atmosphere and, a few moments later, he landed where the Jedi had told him to. As Kat prepared to leave Eagle, she had a thought and wondered what Eagle would think of it.

"Most Jedi know the stories of Crystal Gray's bloodline," she said thoughtfully. "I'm almost tempted to adopt her last name, just to confirm her bloodline continues through me."

"You wouldn't be the first to do so," Eagle answered. "Kathryn Gray... has kind of a ring to it, I must say. Well, give it a bit of thought before you have your name legally changed in the galactic records."

"I like it," Kat said thoughtfully. "But I'll think more about it... open up, I'm headed out."

Her sword and Crystal's lightsaber strapped to her belt, Kat moved down the boarding ramp. There, she was met by a young Jedi.

"Welcome, Miss Bryant," he said. Then, he noticed the lightsaber and frowned. "Where did you get that? You didn't have it on your last visit."

"My ship decided to be a nice little boy and give it to me," Kat answered. "It belonged to Crystal Gray, you know."

"It does sorta resemble the pictures," the Jedi observed, slightly awestruck. "But how did your ship come to... wait... the Eagle's Talon?"

"Not quite," Kat chuckled. "It is Crystal's ship, but it's not Talon. It's Wing." She shook her head. "But I'm not here to debate things I know. Is Skywalker available?"

"Not at the moment," the Jedi answered. "I'll have him call for you when he's ready."

"Tell him I'll be waiting aboard my ship," Kat informed him, returning to Eagle to wait.

Ex-Zar smiled, he said, "you're evading me, I know what you're trying to do, and it's now abvious who you are" at saying this his tone changed and he got rather serious. "What you think I'm some nerf herding, dung hill rat from the lowest secretion in the galaxy? I know you're a pirate, and I know you've got something, now let me in!" said Ex-Zar with a stern tone, hoping to scare her a bit, "hahaha, I'm only messing with you. I'm not gonna stap from one mood to another, but what I said about you being a pirate, well, your evasions gave that away. Plus, something in your eyes gave it away, like a, like a rebellious look" Ex-Zar said this in his kind tone, showing his attitude was only just a joke. "I'm only going to check what you have in the hold. While my men do that, we'll take you to where ever you want, as I said earlier. You're free to roam the ship, tease the men, have target practice, or just sleep! But also as I said earlier, I'm not letting you go untill I see what's in there," Ex-Zar said this with the kindest smile his tired face could show. "And I'm Ex-Zar Yunn by the way, what's your name?" bowing to her when he introduced himself.

It was nearly nightfall, but the rainbows were still clearly visible in the sky. Jethro decided to lie down and rest there for a while, since there wasn’t anything urgent to be done anyway.
Jakyl stepped out of her ship and looked around.

Well, she thought, if Skywalker's busy, I might as well just walk around for a while.

She turned and walked away from the Jedi Academy towards her favorite spot on Yavin 4, a small waterfall. As she approached the small pool, she noticed a young blond-haired man sleeping near the edge. Jakyl stepped aside softly, not wanting to bother him. Sitting on the grass a few meters away, she watched the water tumble in upon itself.

It falls in an infinite number of patterns, she thought, yet somehow it's always the same. Just like the Force.

She glanced behind her at the open door of the Reiver. "Well, Mr. Yunn, since my choices are blow her up or let you aboard...," she said in a loudish voice to prepare her crew inside for visitors. She beckoned with her hand for Ex-Zar to follow her. "Welcome aboard the...."

At that very moment, Bob shouted from within, "Jackpot!" followed by the tinkling sounds of metallic coins falling into a metal dish.

Va'ala grinned. Obviously, Krell had thought of something. "...the Reiver," Va'ala finished. "Oh," she paused, blocking Ex-Zar with a sudden outstretched arm before he could step aboard. "I wasn't kidding about the Wookiee. He's crew, but... well, he's a Wookiee. He can be a bit... grumpy sometimes."

Krell had set Wabacca and the others to work while Va'ala had been distracting the man who wnated on their ship. They had set the Luckjack machines up around the cargo hold, there was also a table set up with three of the crew playing Sabacc, and a few other games were set up as well. One member of the crew sat at a table trying to guess peoples weight's.

"Cap'n just didn't want to let you in on the fun sir, tonight, you see, is Casino night on the ship. We carry the luckjack machines cuz we have these once a month, keeps the crew happy. Y'know how it is I'm sure, bein' a cap'n an all. I'm Krell, Krell Vek'noth, second in command of The Reiver here." He patted a bulkhead.

There was a soft sound of footsteps that disturbed Jethro's sleep, waking him up. When he turned around to see what it was, he saw a black haired woman sitting at a few metres distance, who was watching the waterfall.

"I didn't know anyone else knew about this spot" He said surprised after he sat up straight. "and I certainly haven't seen you at the academy before."

Ex-Zar nodded to the Krell with a smile, and headed towards the luckjack machines. He bent down checking the sides, back, and other areas on the machines. Then he stood up and faced the captain and said, "very nice of you to do that for your men. Too bad you're lying to me." He let this sink in a bit then said, "haha, well, I can tell what you're doing with these machines. I mean seriously, a casino night on a ship this size! Not happening in my book. But, I dont care, so as long as there isn't any symbols on these that contain our shipment insignia, then they're yours." Lifting one of the machines up he looked at the bottum, "aha, well, these were meant for an area several lightyears away from any planet my mens' families live on. So go ahead, tell me the truth, you stole these, and you're probably taking them to some phat cat?" he said this smiling at Va'ala. "Come now, I'll take you to where you need to drop these off. Stay, relax, its my way of making up for my abrupt actions from earlier today" Ex-Zar said this looking around at the crew, so as to indicate he meant all of them.

''It's getting too crowded here.'' Thrawn II said as he observed the holodisplay of the sensor readings. The shuttlecraft had evaded them and went for the surface, but three more ships have entered the system. They all got permission to land. It seemed as if there was nothing to worry about except that T-2c shuttlecraft.

Master Horn interrupted the conversation, apologized for it and introduces himself and his padawan.

"We would stay and talk, but we must leave. Isn't that right master?" Asked Ryan.

"No, I think you can do it alone this time. I trust you."

"Thank you for your vote of confidence master, I shall go at once. May the Force be with all of you."

"May the Force be with you padawan."

Then Ryan left the training grounds and took his Z-95 Headhunter to Naboo.

"Mon Mothma asked me to see Master Skywalker," Vok told both Kyle and Zhane, "And I'm not sure why, but perhaps it's just Republic business. But Master Skywalker has said he is busy, so unless he wants to see me now, I could watch a good sparring match."

He smirked at his last comment. It would be quite different from watching the locals and their businesses on Coruscant.

''Have you alerted the Academy of the intruding shuttle?'' Thrawn II asked over the com device.

''Yes, sir. They sent a patrol of Jedi to investigate, but have asked us to try to monitor the ship's position and notify them if anything important happens.'' Hall replied.

''Very good, then we shall do so.''

Thrawn II sat down in his command chair. He pressed a button on the chair console that was under his right hand and a holoprojection of the live feed of Yavin's surface appeared. He pressed another button and it zoomed in, showing the T-2c shuttlecraft.

''Where are you going?'' Thrawn II wondered.

Remaining silent for the moment, Jakyl thought about what Jethro had said. Something had flickered across his face as he had spoken - something not entirely good.

Maybe he's had a few brushes with the Dark Side himself, Jakyl thought. She knew the pull of those dark temples far too well herself. Staring quietly into the small pool, she waited for him to collect his thoughts.

"Uh, Master, Amiral, not of disrespect or anything, but i would like to familiarize myself with the other students." Zhane asked Kyle.

"Sure, you do that, no apprentice of mine is going to be a lonely nerd," He told Zhane, they both laughed and nodded as Zhane went off on his own.

"Well, how about a good ol' hand-to-hand match. I promise i won't use the Force, after all, it won't be needed, hahahaha!" Kyle chuckled.

"Well, as you know," Brianna started. "You are always welcome to come back." "I know." sighed Arthas. "I'll go take a look around. See if there are some old faces around." "Alright." yelled Brianna as Arthas left. He went to the courtyard. How he missed laying on the grass there. He looked at 2 Jedi in a hand-to-hand combat fight. One of them, he reckonized, was Master Kyle Katarn. The other he was not sure of who he was. He decided to watch them.

Zhane was wandering around the Yavin Temple, when he noticed two fellow apprentices, chatting with each other on a waterfall.

"Uh, greetings! I'm sorry if i disturbed or interupted your chat. I am Zhane Kenobi, Master Katarn's apprentice," He told the male, blonde Jedi, extending his hand for probably, a hand shake.

Amol stepped off the docking platform of the Stephanas, attaching his lightsaber to his belt as he went. As he reached the bottom of the platform, he turned around and spoke into the ship.

"Computer, keep an open comlink. Notify me if you detect anyone approaching either me or yourself. I don't want the Jedi knowing we're here."

"Calculations indicate that the Jedi at the Praxeum are already aware of your presence on the planet," it responded.

Amol bristled. "Irrelevant," he mocked. "Whether they know we're here or not, I don't want them finding me. I've gone six years without dealing with a single Jedi, and I'd hate to ruin a good run."

"Then I'm sorry I'll have to make a spot on your record."

Amol spun around, his hand flying to the lightsaber at his belt. As his fingers grasped the metal, it flew off of his belt, flying into the darkness surrounding him.

"Who the hell are you?" yelled Amol. "Show yourself!"

A robed figure steeped out of the shadows, his lightsaber held in its right hand.

Amol gritted his teeth. "You!" he spat, his face vontorted with disgust. "What the hell are you doing here?"

The man smiled warmly. "You were always a fairly angry apprentice, Amol, but you usually spoke to me with respect, at the very least."

"That was before you destroyed my life, Skywalker," he spat. "If it wasn't for you-"

"If it wasn't for me," interrupted Luke. "You would still be working as a slave for the Hutts."

Amol sneered. "A far sight better than what my life has been like since. At least the Hutts protected their slaves. Unlike the Jedi."

Luke shook his head. "This is not the place for such a discussion," he said quickly. "I came to see you for a reason, Amol."

"And what would that be?"

Luke moved closer, handing Amol his lightsaber back. "The surface is a fairly dangerous place at night - even more so with the Imperial Remnant in the system."

"If you're here to offer me 'protection'..."

Luke shook his head. "No. I'm aware that you are fully capable of taking care of yourself. It's my own safety I'm ocncerned about - I came to you unarmed."

"I thought Jedi were supposed to be smart?" snorted Amol.

Luke smiled before continuing. "Please, come with me," he said, offering Amol his lightsaber back.

Amol stared at Luke for a moment, then grudginly accepted his weapon. "Computer, seal the hatch," he said. "Keep the comlink online."

"Aknowledged."

Interesting, thought Jakyl. "Any relation to Obi-Wan?" she asked.

"So when do you think Skywalker's gonna be available?" Eagle wondered. Kat groaned.

"Isn't that something like the tenth time you've asked?" she muttered.

"Twelfth, actually," Eagle corrected. "But certain mathematical functions have instantaneous rates of change and, given the circumstances, I suspect this is one of them."

"Don't start talking calculus to me," Kat grumbled. "I failed the fundamentals of it, thanks for the painful reminder."

"It's not my fault you don't tell me everything," Eagle shot back. Kat grunted and stood, gathering her sword and Crystal's lightsaber. "Hey! Where are you going?"

"I'm going to wander," Kat answered. "You're driving me crazy!"

"And the Jedi won't?" Eagle demanded. Kat considered this and returned to her seat.

"You win," she sighed.

"I'm so good at logic games," Eagle teased.

"How logical is it for you to shut up at this moment?" Kat hissed.

"Based on your agitated tone of voice, it seems highly logical to ask you what's bothering you," Eagle answered. "And more importantly, why do I annoy you so much?"

"Because you're a ship that talks," Kat replied. "More specifically, you're a ship that can carry on a logical conversation, has perfectly sufficient artificial intelligence, and yet you are more human-ish and more emotional than some humans." She stood again. "I'm gonna walk around, clear my head."

"Outside?" Eagle asked. "You're gonna leave me alone?"

"That's right," Kat agreed. "Fresh air could do me some good... and maybe I'll run into Skywalker."

She left the ship and he began talking to himself.

"Oh, what fun," he said. "I've annoyed her enough to make her leave me alone..."

A second later. "Aw, kriffin' hell! I'm bored. Kat? Kat, come back! I'll be nice, I promise."

But Kat had already left and did not answer.

"Hmm," Eagle murmured. "There's plenty of other ships in the area..."

He 'caught sight' of a fancy little Jedi shuttle. "Ooh! Hey, baby, how ya doin'?"

And from somewhere within the little shuttle, an alarm began to ring.

"No, no!" Eagle objected. "I don't wanna merge with you or anything perverted like that... jus' an introduction!" The alarm's volume increased. "Oh, come on! What's your name?"

The alarm's tone changed and got louder. At that, Eagle stopped his attempts to 'introduce' himself and finally, the alarm stopped.

Silence descended over the hangar.

"Kriffin' hell..." Eagle grumbled.

"Hmm, that's curious, everyone asks that for he was a True Jedi or not. He was exiled after all, so i may be his son, grandson, or his nephew, or grand nephew (sp?). But i'm guessing it's the first, since i am, atleast under Master Katarn's words, a promising student. So, what are your names?"

"I'm Jakyl." She looked toward the Academy for a moment. Something important had just occurred, and she had no idea what it was.

I hate it when that happens, she thought. She turned back to Zhane.

"So, how are you finding Kyle Katarn as your Master?" she asked.

As soon as Zhane left, Vok continued to speak.

"Well, we Admirals don't get everything," He told Kyle, "I should know."

Vok decided to look around the Academy and meet the other students, just like Zhane did.

Well, i can't wait aronud. Gotta do something. Kyle told himself.

"Well, Kyle is different than any other master, first, he is the Battlemaster, but, it's his attitude, he prefers action than staying around, meditating, reading books and watching holocrons. I think i familiarize with that attittude." Zhane told her.

Ryan was almost arriving at Naboo, a few more hours of flight and he would arrive. Ryan was thinkin about his trials, how he must wait until he reaches 18, because it was expected to him to be more wise. Ryan looked upon Naboo, he had to face the trials that Master Corran made for him. It must be in a very forested planet, where a Jedi must be there 3 days in the woods, meditating mostly. This trials were to cleanse mind and the body.

"So, this is a good place to relax and meditate, isn't it? A great place to feel the Force flowing in both us and environment," He asked them.

“I’m not that keen on meditating Zhane…but yes it is a good place to relax and…..”

“Jethro!” Someone shouted in the forest. “Jethro where are you?”

“Sounds like I’ve got to go….” Jethro stated. “I’ll see the two of you back at the academy.”

Without waiting for goodbye’s, Jethro took off and went into the direction Kyla was shouting from. He continued walking through the forest and was out of sight. “Ah there you are. Where were you, I’ve been looking all over for you.” Kyla asked when she found Jethro.

“Back there.” Jethro pointed towards the waterfall. “I’ve just met Jakyl and Zhane Kenobi.” He said and they started walking back to the academy. “We must have been too busy training, I never met the guy before.” He couldn’t help but laugh at the idea that he did not encounter Zhane back at the academy before. “What are the odds? One at a billion?”

“Something like that I guess.” Kyla responded.

“So what was so important you had to tell me about sis? More visitors?” Jethro’s asked. Kyla nodded. “Well, that too, but I wanted to ask you if we could start duelling now.”

“Very funny sis…” Jethro said grinning when he turned to her. She didn’t look like she was joking at all.“Wait, you’re serious?” Jethro asked surprised.

“Uh-huh,” Kyla answered. “it’s past midnight brother, you said you would duel me today.”

Jethro laughed. “…you really are that anxious to get a rematch huh?”

“Yes, and I don’t want you to hold back one bit this time.” She remarked. The academy was in sight and they were getting close to the side entrance.

“In the few years of my training, I have never seen another padawan so determined to beat his or her master. You really are one of a kind sis, but don’t let your emotions get the better of you. You know it leads to the…”

“Yes yes, it leads to the dark side blablabla, now get moving…” She said, pushing Jethro in the back, forcing him through the side entrance. “You’ll be biting the dust before dawn.”

“No wonder Luke wanted me to train my own sister, she’s more than a handful for any master.”

Vok walked outside into the tranquil gardens. Many of the students meditated here, to get away from the teachings and to reflect on themselves. Vok admited that he wanted to learn to meditate, so he could get away from stressful days at the office.

"Well," said Jakyl to Zhane, "I guess that leaves just you and me, then."
She sighed. "You're right, this is a good place to meditate. But I'm afraid I don't do too much of that. I prefer a good lightsaber duel to sitting motionless with my eyes closed any day."
