Step by step shader tutorial?

Hey guys, i am new to mapping and am in the process of making an elaborate map. I almost have it done, but i just don't get shaders at all. I have looked around, but i just can't find what i am looking for. There are just little questions everywhere, and none of them help me. Therefore what i am asking for is a step by step process to large shading.

If anyone could please help, it would be much appreciated.

And btw, the program i am using is GTKradiant.

Just the whole process. Not the coding, but everything around it. Files and where to put them etc...

Yeah, but what more specific?

Do you wnat to apply shaders on models, or just do wall textures, or animated screens,
or landscapes, or...???
There are so many things...

I suggest you look at the shaders in JO/JA, as well as some nice custom made maps, depending on your interest...

For the files and where to put them thing, you make .shader files in notepad as plain text, save them in base/shaders/<map name> and then you have to add the name of the file to the file shaderlist.txt
