you know it was this post that made me go out and rent it. It's a pretty good movie, a B movie but really good with an original plot. it's like a cross between independence day, contact, an x-files episode, and the day after tomorrow.
as for the part mentioned, yeah i smirked when I heard Calivera's name and saw the toy skeletons they used during the Day of the Dead. They even showed a parade. But i quickly got disturbed after watching the part after that. as innocent as the movie seemed it kind of freaked me out in some places.
