I'll post about it in my blog later, but I had a pretty good bowling practice session today, culminating in a 173, and closing that game out with a turkey (3 strikes in a row), my longest string of strikes since I returned to the game. The 173 game is also my best single-game score since my return.

stewardesses??? sure, if i'm interested in washed up, middle-aged women who probably have a full time cat-sitter on payroll.

Hmmm... my hope is to never be encumbered by the abject horrors of commercial airflight ever again in my lifetime,.. if I can at all help it.

That's probably not very realistic, though.

Business-class or better from this point forward though...

EDIT:

Another show down.

This one was pretty easy. Piano trio (w/ guest sax player...) Done before 10.

Headin' home.

Need food and sleep.

work was boring today...same old crap, stupid **** breaking down on us as usual for the beginning of the month. tomorrow i have to go in early for a stupid dept meeting, apparently it's not going to be fun...hopefully i'm in the green, i don't know what i could be doing wrong...aside from ignoring the customers that have the word 'bitch' stamped onto their foreheads.

Got home, played some GRAW 2 w/my friends, connection kept cutting out on me for some retarded reason so i quit and put Oblivion in. dunno why but that always seems to happen alot in GRAW 2 compared to Halo 3...maybe i should host next time.

Going bowling w/my friends friday night so i am looking forward to that.

Need to get a haircut, as my hair is growing out of control. last time i got it cut was before 4th of july. it grows too damn fast once i am able to spike it. and when i dont spike it, it looks like pure ****....and when it grows too long and i spike it, the gel doesn't hold up and makes me look like i haven't showered. -_- time to get it shaved off. -at least i won't get lice.

I'm really getting into Oblivion, it's alot of fun. Trying to get all my major skills to journeyman before i go to level 20. Getting better at marksman, that is FUN...and i'm trying to get my alchemy up so i can poison those arrows and kill **** from distance.

Gonna try and get up early tomorrow...since i gotta be in at work at freakin 11am..and be there til freakn 9. at LEAST i don't have to work on wednesday, i plan on putting away all my laundry, washing the dishes, cleaning the living room, and then i might get a little brave and go get online banking set up and get all set up for direct deposit. *HOPEFULLY* i can get my truck fixed w/o having to spend all my life savings...i think it may need a few hundred to pass inspection, the rest may need another paycheck.

At least i've got my priorities set....once that crap is taken care of, i can go on my hunting trip(s) and get me some venison.

My sister is still sick from a week and a half ago, the damn doctor up here likes to send people all over the place for tests and useless crap cause he doesn't know **** (well, i don't know that, basically that's all he's ever done for anyone in my family aside from myself because i refuse to go to the doctor) he's got my sister here on this augmentin XR and Mucinex as well as some other hardcore medicine and she still coughs herself to sleep. her boss is also an *******, made her call people all day today about stupid ****, perhaps the dark brotherhood shall pay him a visit. o wait this isn't Tamriel. dammit. j/k..... she definetely doesn't need that kind of retarded stress right now. =\

i need new work clothes -_- tired of wearing the same stuff every day...guess that's what i get for buying 2 of the same shirt and pants. maybe i'll go salvation army and get some for cheap.

hm i wonder, did i even make any goals or resolutions this year?

I've flown on USAirways, Delta, United, TED, Skywest, Comair, and an ex-Song 757 that got absorbed into Delta. Aside from one flight being on a very rickety 737, my USAirways experiences have been very good. Which is odd because they have a reputation for being very bad. And mine was on Pittsburgh and Charlotte based crews, which are old school crews that got that bad reputation, not the America West crews I assume Ike had. Nothing has worked right for USA since they merged with AWA. Except repainting their fleet. That worked out.

Comair had the best crew I dealt with and it was on a CRJ-200 so new it still smelled like paint. But that Song 757 was great. Even though it was put into regular service with Delta it still had all the Song equipment on board, so it had leather seats and DISH Network TV at every seat. That plane was awesome.

Oh, when I fly, my ticket is bought or influenced in price by my family's extensive collection of miles. And it is thusly known that the boarding pass in my hand is in the hand of a member of the Triple Platinum Golden Emperor's Executive Inner Circle Club, so instead of being herded on the plane as fuel consuming weight, I am welcomed as if I were the president boarding Air Force One. I get bulkhead and exit row seats when I want them, no questions. Its...unfair.

The stewardesses I know personally are 25-28, and frankly, they are anything but washed-up.

Sure, they get older on their own, and those I saw on my one flight I did in 2001 were more like "meh", but you never know, that's why I'm asking, you know? ^^

got a cupboard load of dishes done. took me about an hour. guess i won't be doing dishes tomorrow...have to get the garbage together and take that over to the dumpster after work tonight. still deciding whether to bring it to work with me and let it sit out..don't think there's anything that will stink.

got evanescence playing through my xbox 360, bought the cd last year i think...only listened to it about 10 times.

charging my DS lite, batteries kinda ran out on it. I may be going to the renaissance faire in manheim this month, depends on what my truck bill comes to.

oblivion is definitely my favorite game on the xbox 360.

Is Halo 2 as bad as it's made out to be? i.e. another poor console port to Windows. Just I've done Halo on the PC and enjoyed most of it but I've been quite cautious about getting Halo 2 due to all the negative stuff I've seen on the internet and in several reviews.

Didn't even know it was out yet.
I'll have to get a Vista machine at some point to give it a shot.

I'd still like to play through Halo 1 again someday, at some insane settings, too. Had to scale back most of the goodies to get decent frame rates on this geriatric machine when I went through it before.

Slow day at work.

Walked back.

Really hungry.

Area meeting tomorrow. Hmmmmmmmph. Joy of joys. Oh well. Shouldn't be too bad. That's really the only thing on my plate tomorrow.

Steve Vai all day Thursday, though.

I just beat GRAW 2 on Elevated Risk. Excellent game. Definitely the BEST Ghost Recon game. I liked the first ghost recon and island thunder, then Ghost Recon 2 and summit strike came out and it was very different, but the graphics and gameplay were very improved, then when GRAW 1 came out it wasn't the same felt too linear and boxy, then GRAW 2 came and it's awesome.

I have no idea what GRAW is... except that sound I make when the water I'm drinking goes down the wrong pipe...

"2nd Verse: Same as the First!"

Differences between yesterday and today:

Had meeting. It was relatively painless. I was in rare form, I must say. Someone brought coffee, and the extra shot of sugar and caffeine put me right out of the park. It's been like someone has been striking me daily with a Goofy-Stick lately, anyway. That extra, super-buzz to my already overstimulated system got me some very odd looks every time I made a comment.

Had super spicy Thai food for lunch. It was dee-lish. Will live to regret that decision later though, I'm sure.

Spent the rest of the afternoon teasing a co-worker by e-mail.
I've made it my goal in life to make sure that she never actually manages to get any real productive work done by driving her completely and totally bat****.

Other than those few things... the days were pretty much carbon-copies of each other.

Busy morning so far!

Got my paycheck, then picked up archery license, 3 month sub to xbox live, set of work clothes, went to the bank to deposit the rest, then I got home and scheduled my truck for inspection on monday. Hoping it doesn't need any expensive work done.

I'm listening to Disturbed right now, chillin and feeling pretty good, if truck passes inspection w/o costing me alot of $$$, gonna get out in the woods on wednesday.

I found 3 of my battle buddies from basic on myspace (glad i bought that yearbook since it has their full names in it, making it easier to do a search), sent them messages and friend requests. One is sure to see it, as he was on it on the 2nd, not sure about the other 2.

I only got about 6 hours of sleep last night. went to bed at 130, woke up at 730 cause the alarm and i kept hitting snooze then decided enough of that and got up.

Glad i got my hunting licenses taken care of and my xbox live subscription not gonna run out on me anytime soon. My gamertag is Obvious Doom if any of you has xbox live i play GRAW 2 and Halo 3 on it. GRAW 2 is better as long as i host it, otherwise for some lame reason my connection drops me out of the game.

need to clean the apartment and then get ready for work...

Yesterday:

Oof.

That is all.

Details?

OK... here goes...

Went to bed the night before around 10 pm, knowing I would be getting up early, and had a long day ahead of me.
Was WIDE awake again somewhere shortly after 1 am. NEVER got back to sleep.

Ouch.

The day at work was pretty crazy. We had to start earlier than we probably needed to, because the college decided to put an hour-long Q & A clinic with Vai on in the middle of the afternoon. Put the brakes on everything we were trying to do. Sucked.

Show was crazy, stupid long. Almost 3 hours.
Show was crazy, stupid loud. Words cannot describe. (Although still not as loud as Yngwie...)

Got home somewhere just shy of 2 am.

So by the time my head hit the pillow last night, I had been awake 25 hours, on maybe 3 hours sleep.

Not bad.

Not a record for me by any means... but the older I get, the more I feel that kind of thing.

Need caffeine. Now!

Some schmuck in a black vest and baseball cap surveying the chaos that was the Vai load-in.

It's a very flattering angle, is it not?

The webcam froze at some point, and this was the image I was presented when I finally got a chance to sit down at my desk for the first time all day.

Kind of a rude awakening... to see your own sorry butt on display like that.

*Shudder*

at least you were clothed.

For me, I have been having a miserable week. Been getting about 4 hours of interuppted sleep mainly because of this canker sore on my tongue. It is on the left side near the molars. Top that Off I am probly going to end up working 60 hours this week without a day off until MAYBE the 20th which I will declare a "me" day and get stinking drunk

Curling season should be starting then.. WOO HOO

Long day again, yesterday... but last night's show was pretty relaxed, at least for one of these "high-profile" college shows, and I actually managed to have a good time with it, and make it sound really good.

The people typically breathing over my shoulder and stressing over every stupid little detail the whole time during these types of events weren't around at all yesterday, so I just did whatever the hell I wanted. Nice.
I could actually use a lot more of that.

Sent a co-worker the link to the jam-session CD (with plenty o' caveats and warnings, of course.) Still... Could turn out to be a mistake.

Oh well... I've recently decided that since we only get one shot at this game, to not care so much about what other people might think of me, and be a lot less self-conscious in my dealings with other people.
So in that light, a lot of people at work are finally getting to see the really weirdo-freak side of edlib... some for the very first time. Both barrels of it too...

I think I have some of them worried...

Day off today. Yay. Try to get outside for a bit. Run a few errands. Relax.

Well,.. since the exact opposite of this new attitude been my modus operandi for nigh on 38 years... felt it was time for a change-up.

As godawfully bleak as my existence has been up to this point in time, I truly believe it would prove damn near impossible for things to ever get any worse.

But time and events will tell, and validate one of us as correct...

I thought that once too. I now refer to that as "Serious Error No. 2."

Believe me, things can always get worse. For example, I am a huge loser, and unbelievably lame, but I am also not crippled or retarded, I have a good job, I have the ability to enjoy and play music, and the police have no outstanding warrants on me...to the best of my knowledge. Yes, things suck, but compared to how bad they could actually get, they are actually looking all right.

Eh.

Well,.. I still think I'll take my chances with it on my own.

If things do manage to get worse because of it, at least it will be a change. Something new to talk about.

The thought of going along as I was: merely counting out the days, the hours, and the seconds as I plod aimlessly towards an (inevitably) early death, keeping a ton of stuff bottled up inside, doesn't give much comfort either.

So if it's really to be lose/ lose... I think I'm going to have to go with the new and different "lose" option, as opposed to the same-old same-old "lose" choice.

I can always go back to that, anyway.

EDIT:

Today, in a nutshell:

Wake up. Drink tea. Play guitar. Surf net. Play guitar. Run errands. Come home. Play guitar. Eat. Play guitar. Take nap. Wake up. Play guitar. Take shower. Take walk. Come home. Play guitar. Switch to bass. Play bass. Prepare dinner. Eat. Watch TV. Play guitar. Post this.

Wow.

Actually got a lot of practicing in today. Actually switched to bass at one point. Fingertips (on both hands) are killing me.

Henry Rollins tomorrow. Late call though. I'll try to get out and get some more exercise before work.

I replaced a light switch today. It took me like three hours because I'm retarded and then once it was in and working I realized that it was the wrong color. ****.

D'Oh!

Wrong color? What,.. for the decor of the room, you mean?

Easy day (though kinda long one) at work. Henry spoke for over 3 hours. Oof.

Got an 90 minute walk in this morning. Try again for an even more extended one tomorrow if weather holds up. Still more errands to run... but I have a busy week ahead, so if I can figure out that I put them off and just take it easy again, I think that's what I'm going to have to do.

No, it doesn't match the cover plate that goes over the switch. The cover is white, but the new switch is ivory.

Ah. An aesthetic nightmare.

Easy... just remove the plate.

Half the switches in my house don't have plates.

I just finished de-bricking my computer.

Apparently, my IDE cable (which is like... 7 years old) FINALLY decided to have fits. So I firts thought it was a virus, which i did have some malicous spyware that despite my best efforts, I could not erase. So.. I nuked the drive. Then, and ONLY THEN realizing that it was a cable issue, sighed, gave up. Just finished installing Dx, my GPU drivers for my card, sound drivers, and now formatting the other 2 partitions. This way if it bricks again, i can save some of the data.

Clean installs are nice though.

They sure are.

I just wish I wasn't so damn lazy... although, it is supposed to be a ****ty day out all day. Maybe I'll tackle putting the new drive in today...

well not only did i have my truck inspected, but it failed. by about 10 things. brakes, brake lining, some weird wires in the back, driver side front tire, catalytic converter, shocks, all would cost well over $1000. so i said **** it and drove off w/o it passing inspection. currently charging the acclaim's battery. for all the work on the truck i could be better off fixing the acclaim, at least that doesn't need a catalytic converter.

i also discovered after pulling into my driveway, those ****ers took what was holding my catalytic converter off and so it was like ****ing hanging there. trying to find a metal wire thing to tie it up. i'm so pissed off right now, cause i was only expecting a grant total of at MOST $400.....but no it had to be as much as i payed for the truck.

guess i got what i payed for....although the acclaim needs a transmission, it doesn't need half the **** that the truck needs.

acclaim needs:

transmission, left ball socket thing, 4 tires. it has a new catalytic converter (unless what i purchased from the place i just brought my truck from is rusted already).

well gotta go see if the ****ing battery is charged.

the adventures never end.....

edit: battery charged OK, managed to drive it without much troubles, only problem seeming to be it needs to be given gas in order to start or else it stalls. maybe it just needed a new battery.

couldnt find anything to tie the converter to the hanging part so i ended up using a screw and a part of an eraser didnt know it would get hot enough to melt the eraser. -_- where are the damn iron hangers when i need em.

Battle is a pure form of expression. It is heart and discipline, reduced to movement and motion. In battle, the words are swept away, giving way to actions-- mercy, sacrifice, anger, fear. These are pure moments of expression.

A magnificently squandered day! I was prodigious in my laziness! Scaled to new heights of lethargy and slothfulness!

Well... at least I feel rested.

Got to get up early for trash and a dentist appointment. Blah.
