I like Audioslave a lot too. Thanks to You Know My Name and the lead singer, Chris Cornell. Though, unfortunately, they are departed and are defunct as of what I know. Though, Cornell will be coming out with another album later this year called Carry On, IIRC.
Anyway, I'm listenin' to a bunch of tunes.
Vi sitter i Ventrilo och spelar DotA (DotA) by Basshunter. I am sure some of you have heard of him. Though, it's kinda cheesy. But, I like it....
Also, there is the song/theme from Requiem of a Dream. It's been in a few commercials I've seen recently as the backround music. And a few videos.
If you haven't noticed I have a soft spot for foreign music and Original/Official Sountracks (OST).
Then, there is Billy Talent. From their second album, Billy Talent II, I'm listenin' to Fallen Leaves, Devil in a Midnight Mass, and Red Flag. I also like River Below from their first album as Billy Talent, which is self-titled.
Well, also there are the Beastie Boys, who I have recently took a fancy to. Most tracks I like from them are on Liscensed to Ill. The songs Brass Monkey, No Sleep till Brooklyn, and Girls top the list. I also like Ch-Check It Out from To the 5 Boroughs. And some other tracks from a few other of the albums.
Almost at the end, I've added Last Resort by Papa Roach, from Infest. I heard it at a recent lacrosse game. Couldn't ever find the name of the song till recently, so I added it.
Finally, some Godsmack, which I added recently. Though, I have no specific favourite song, but they aren;t too bad. Though, I like Rammstein more.
If you have noticed, I like many different genres of music.

I am listening to Bill Miller's Raven In The Snow from 1995. I first became aware of Bill Miller when he was Tori Amos' opening act during her Little Earthquakes tour. Bill Miller has been called the Native American's Bob Dylan. I find this very much on the mark.

I'm listening to The Unforgiven II by Metallica. The song has a great tune and is great for anyone who wants a rock song without all the pounding.

That's too bad. I hadn't heard about that. Seems like Cornell wanted more cash.

I love that soundtrack. I bought it as soon as I figured out that it was the trailer music from the Two Towers.
Clint Mansell, the same guy that wrote that Requiem's music, also did the score for the film "The Fountain." Those tracks are also awesome. I highly recommend it.
I just listened to Paul Oakenfold's "Starry Eyed Surprise." It has a catchy beat, just like the one I"m listening to right now - Elvis Presley's "A Little Less Conversation." <3

Crazy screaming as in screamo? Or... oh, Linkin Park screaming. That's different. That's awesome. I'm currently listening to In The End by them though, not much wailing in that. It's pretty tuneful though.

In The End was actually the first song I ever heard from them. It's actually the one that got me hooked, and now I can't get enough. I think their best screaming is in One Step Closer. Every time I listen to that song, I literally go crazy.

My dad has a bunch of old vinyl albums that he somehow converts to mp3s and then puts them up on our network so I can get at them. He recently converted Elton John's Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, so I'm currently listening to that album. It has a lot of great hits like Funeral for a Friend (Love lies Bleeding) which I had never heard before.

I was first introduced to Linkin Park by a friend who burned Faint Remix to a CD. Sounded brilliant, went to iTunes and bam.

Any music from the soundtrack of 300, which is composed by Tyler Bates. I'm a sucker for OST music. 'Specially if it's orchestral. 300 is a prime example. It was also a pretty damn amazing film too. In which, I've seen twice.
Then, there is Godsmack. I've also been listening to it recently. The songs the top this list are songs like Straight Out Of Line, Speak, Voodoo and Awake. All from different albums. I also like many other songs, too. But, those are my fav. from each album.

Linkin Park Meteora Album
alot of the songs that linkin park does have alot of meaning to me, especially 'somewhere i belong' as i've been to so many places, and i think the only place i ever really fit in was in the army, and so im training to go back and pass bct (failed the pt test, i failed the run miserably).
Battle is a pure form of expression. It is heart and discipline, reduced to movement and motion. In battle, the words are swept away, giving way to actions-- mercy, sacrifice, anger, fear. These are pure moments of expression.

Has the definition of sreaming changed when I wasn't looking. Or am I just the only person that thinks that real screaming is done by bands like Behemoth, Legion of the Damned, God Dethroned, Marduk, Watain etc. etc.

I was listening to Stevie Ray Vaughn's Pride and Joy quite a bit on the 8-hour drive home from my 2 weeks of Army duty (in anticipation of seeing my wife).

I know it's an old post, but I happened to spot it as I was reading the rules listed on the first page, and figured I'd give you a thumbs up, Bob.
I love Steppenwolf's style, and Magic Carpet Ride is one of my favorite songs. Born to Be Wild is good, and I also particularly like Rock Me and None of Your Doing. Then again... I like nearly all of their songs.
Right now, I'm listening to Billy Joel - It's Still Rock & Roll to Me. I've always liked Billy Joel's style as well, and the fact that a large percentage of his songs contain saxophone solos is a big plus for me.
(I own one and love playing it, as well as listening to it. )

The Crown - Cold Is The Grave
The Crown is a death/trash metal band. the band was first named Crown Of Thorns but had to change their name because there already was another band with that name. After the demise of The Crown vocalist Johan Lindstrand started a new band called One Man Army And The Undead Quartet also a death/trash band.
Now the song is:
The Crown - Dream Bloody Hell
An instrumental song.

Kansas - Leftoverture One of my favorite albums of all time written by one of my favorite song composers (Kerry Livgren). I love how some morons in the press have described Kansas as a "heavy metal" act. Especially considering how much of a classical music fan Kerry is.

I'm listening to that wonderful song by Chris Cornell. Yep, "You Know My Name", still my most played song. Just can't get enough of it. I'm also waiting Chris' new album, Carry On. Sounds like an interesting album. Probably will get it when it's released in June. He has a track that has been released of that album called "No Such Thing". Pretty good song.
As well, I listen to some Godsmack on a regular basis and more specifically, I listen to the song, "Straight Out Of Line" ( Faceless) and "Speak" ( IV) almost religiously. I have a small playlist of ten Godsmack songs that I think are great.
Otherwise, I listen to a bunch of other songs once and a while like "Kryptonite" by 3 Doors Down and a bunch of other rock tunes, and of course, Rammstein.

I finally got my hands on Ziggy Stardust Live (<333 Niner) and its a great version of the song. I now have heard three different versions of the song: the original, the acoustic guitar version, and the Live at the Beeb version. I don't know which I like best but this is definitely one of my all-time favorite songs.
Right now I'm listening to ハレ晴レユカイ Hare Hare Yukai which is the ending theme for Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu.

Indeed it is a great song. I'm listening to it at the moment, I like their new style and according to Chester the nu-metal sound of their previous albums is completely gone.
I'm hyped about their upcoming album Minutes to Midnight.

"How Soon is Now" - The Smiths
I am the son
And the heir
Of a shyness that is criminally vulgar
I am the son and the heir
Of nothing in particular
You shut your mouth
How can you say
I go about things the wrong way?
I am Human and I need to be loved
Just like everybody else does
I am the son
And the heir
Of a shyness that is criminally vulgar
I am the son and the heir
Of nothing in particular
You shut your mouth
How can you say
I go about things the wrong way?
I am Human and I need to be loved
Just like everybody else does
There's a club, if you'd like to go
You could meet somebody who really loves you
So you go, and you stand on your own
And you leave on your own
And you go home, and you cry
And you want to die
When you say it's gonna happen "now"
Well, when exactly doe you mean?
See I've already waited too long
And all my hope is gone
You shut your mouth
How can you say
I go about things the wrong way?
I am Human and I need to be loved
Just like everybody else does

Bleed It Out - Linkin Park.
Ah, Minutes to Midnight (the new Linkin Park album). This is not my favorite album by them, but its still awesome.
They used to be nu-metal, now there just plain metal. And rap. Hell, I don't know what they are!
There still my favorite band, and always will be.
Thinking of putting on Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin.
I love the lyrics, and the music. If there's a bustle in your hedgerow/Don't be alarmed now/It's just a Spring clean for the May Queen. What does that mean? I don't know but I love it

Hare Hare Yukai, the closing theme from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. As Niner, Jae and jmac know, I'm completely ****ing addicted to this goddamned song.

Honor Thy Father by Dream Theater. Dream Theater are the masters of progressive rock/metal, they use complicated timescales (usually more than 1 per song), complex rhythms, and every member of the band could stand and do a half-hour solo on their instrument and it wouldn't be boring. How many bands can say that?

I love the lyrics, and the music. If there's a bustle in your hedgerow/Don't be alarmed now/It's just a Spring clean for the May Queen. What does that mean? I don't know but I love it

Play it backwards. Seriously, it really works.
Of course, some people will say its just the power of suggestion... Well, hear for yourself.
