Youd have to actually play the game for a length of time just see how badly the game is run, and how boring it gets.
Heck, even with its lag, and the random bugs, lotro is more fun than warcrack.

Suh-weet! Looks like Starcraft II will be a PC-exclusive. After not getting any love from BioWare for Mass Effect and LucasArts for The Force Unleashed it's nice to know there is at least one game I'm interested in playing that will be available for PC.

Starcraft 2 announceed!
3:00 - FMV sequence in a spaceship - looks Terran - zooming in on a metal door - door opening - reveals a guy with a cigar in chains - prisoner - door shuts behind him - there's so much bass the room is shaking - guy steps into some kind of metallic devicce - legs are strapped in - guy rising toward ceiling - Korean text on screen got people very excited - another part of the machine is dropping metal arms on him - machine whirring - applying armor to his torso - extremly detailed visuals here - now guy is strapping on gloves - armor is molding together - seems like a Terran marine - rockets turn on - zerg now onscreen - Marine delivers a line - StarCraft 2 officially announced. [link]
StarCraft 2 will be an RTS largely in the same vein as its predecessor. The game will feature the same three races: Protoss, Zerg, and Terran. Action will unfold on the same type of 2D plane as before, with multitiered maps that ground units must use ramps to move between. Graphics have been updated significantly, many new units added, and some old units removed. Blizzard was unwilling to divulge much about how the Zerg and Terran forces have changed, but shed some light on the new developments for the Protoss. Story specifics are still being kept under wraps, though from the concept art it seems Kerrigan will somehow be involved. The game will release "when it's done" for PC and Mac only. It's currently in pre-alpha stages of development, and has been in production at Blizzard since the release of WarCraft 3: The Frozen Throne in 2003. [link]
Ah, finally! Starcraft is back!

Looked at that site, I was never interested in the game myself, but the graphics do look pretty neat.

Bah, I've been playing WC3 a lot lately and apparently "Build More Farms/Burrows" mixed up with the Pylon message.
Then again, I haven't played any game without totally borked sound in ~6 months, so I don't even know if that's how it goes :*(. I really need to get unlazy and fix my sound.

Starcraft 2... if they don't get the balacing right it will be a desaster and people (especially Koreans) will stick to starcraft 1.
I mean, Starcraft Broodwar is the best balanced RTS game EVER! Not even Warcraft has reached that so far...
Who else thinks people will be pissed of because of the balancing when the game is released?

No way in this universe that the current blizzard people will get starcraft 2 correct. As someone on a fansite said once "it will be Warcraft 3 in space". I don't want it. Have 1 with brood war.
"The beauty and genius of a work of film may be reconceived, though its first material expression be destroyed; a vanished fiction may yet again inspire the screenplay-writer; but when the last individual of a race of living directors, of artists, breathes no more, another heaven and another earth must pass before such a one can be again." -William Beebe, modified in memorial of the twentieth century

Actually Warcraft 3 is Starcraft in the middle ages and 3D graphics, so Starcraft 2 can never be a rip off of WC3.

Is there any reason for two threads on the same subject? This one and the one in "The Outlander Club".

Remains to see if the gameplay is good enough to make up for it. Starcraft was the only RTS I've played for any length of time.

Yeah, it's actually wise of them n ot to introduce new races...Starcraft has cult status and the worst thing they can do it ruin it with an unbalanced sequel.
