[KOTOR] Easy swoop racing courses mod

I hate swoop racing and I've never been able to beat the third tier but I wanted to have access to the subplots (and credits) associated with swoop racing. I've made a simple mod that changes the layout of the tracks on Manaan and Tatoine into straight shot courses. This mod allows you to become the king (or the queen) of the track with minimum efforts.

If you feel the above mod is just too easy, I made a Medium difficulty mod that should allow you to gain a few 1/10 of a second. The mod slightly changes the track layouts on both Manaan and Tatoine. Here's the link:

Easy swoop racing courses

Tired of spending many hours (and credits) trying to
beat the three tiers in Manaan and Tatoine but still
want the glory, credits and the subplots that go with
swoop racing?

This simple mod is intended only for (lazy) players who
don't like swoop racing and/or who don't want to invest time
and efforts trying to beat the track.

The layout of the two tracks has been modified in order to
have staightforward courses and not to worry about obstacles.


Installation: Just extract the files into the KotOR
Override directory.

Trying to beat the third tier on Tatoine on my non high-end machine was driving me mad so I started browsing through the files with the Kotor tool to see if I could do something and I found about the lyt files.

Great idea for a mod. swoop racing is lame.

There is something screwy with this mod. Im racing on tatoine, and periodicly i get a.) random invisible rocks in the middle of the course, and b.) sometimes the turbo pads stop working, and I cant shift.

There is the possiblity that this is normal, and that in the other 3 times ive beat the game and swoop raced that i never noticed this behavior, but i think that that is unlikely. any ideas for a resolution would be handy. thanks.

Concerning the invisible rocks on the Tatoine course, I've never ran into any of them but I've made some modifications to the Tatoine file and I believe it will solve the problem.

I noticed that some accelerator pads sometimes stop working at the end of the course but I believe that this occurs when you reach a certain speed. There's probably a max speed for the swoop race. I can change it but it requires repackaging the whole module.

Since the Easy swoop racing mod was definitely very easy, I've made a semi-easy swoop racing mod for Tatoine (Manaan is coming soon).

I just moved a few useless accelerator pads to more useful locations


Contrary to the Easy Swoop racing mod, all the obstacles are there and I don't suggest you run into them.

The Medium Difficulty mod is not just for Tatoine but also for Manaan. I found that it was more difficlult to change the course on Manaan because there were more options for an appropriate course.

I would appreciate feed back and recommendations concerning the positioning of accelerator pads.

Hi, I just download your mod and I am having and issue like was said in the above post. I seem to be hitting a invisible rock. I have down loaded the files from 3 or 4 different places but they are all the same. Can you help me please?

Is there one for TSL? Can't seem to be able to utelise the ez-swoop cheat on Telos and I would love to have a mod like this for TSl
