Nihilius would most likely own. I mean, he does have that force drain ability, and can 'eat' a world. Why couldn't he defeat Malak?

Malak and Nihilius are tools. I think that Nihilius would win in a fight, but since he can't say anything that makes sense, I have to go with liking Malak better.

That's because we actually learned a tad bit about him in K1. In K2, Nihilus kinda just sits there waiting for you to come to him.

I like Nihilus more. In K1, it only took one person (Revan) to defeat Malak. In TSL, It took about 3 (Visas, Mandalore, and the Exile) who are all very powerful players, plus the destruction of his ship.

Malak maybe a brute, but he is a sith nonetheless.
Nihilus is only an ex-sith degenerated into a beast controlled and chained by the lust for his hungar of the force/souls.

Nihilus looks cooler, that being the sole reason as to why he illustrates the cover for K2. Other than that, he has no story, is easy to beat and don't say anything comprehensible. He actually represents how much Obsidian failed with K2 for me. Malak wins this contest.

Nihlis is better cause he seems more mistarys and more eviler and well malak is just a idiout who used the Star Forge wayy too much and it came to his downfall while Nihlis was more smarter and was more powerful then malak.
If K2 was finished then Nihlis would become the best villion.

Isn't Nihilius more powerful than Malak? We are talking about who would win in a duel right?

He's more 'eviler'? Really? I guess that depends on how you equate evil. And he's not mysterious, just badly written.

I wouldn't say his use of the Star Forge was too much, or that was what caused his downfall. His overconfidence caused his downfall, overconfidence brought about by what he percieved as Revan's weakness.

I'm wondering how you reach this conclusion. We don't see (or hear) enough of him to tell that he's smarter. He certainly wasn't smart enough to end the Triumvirate (strange, considering he can apparently eat the Force).

No, he wouldn't be.
As for my vote, Malak, if we're going on character development. If we're going on overblown, ridiculous Force abilities, Nihilus.
And remember, spell-check is your friend.

I like nihilus better than malak i really wish he would get more of a backstory. As for a duel i think malak would win. Reason for that is simple if nihilus is so powerful why did he not take over the entire sith empire from malak and/or Revan. Cuz obviously he was alive and probably just as powerful as he was during tsl game

Nihilus probably was powerful...but I doubt he just instantly got powerful enough out of thin air to challenge Revan or Malak. He didn't do enough side-quests to gain XP and level up .

Malak is a far more developed character, though I was really touched when we got that one insight into Nihilus's core beliefs when he said, "Rofghahdstjhadnfag".

Nihilus has absolutely no depth unless you start speculating about him. He's an overpowered, silly character even if you delve into the cut content which makes him undefeatable (Yet you'd somehow be expected to defeat him anyway? Sounds like Star Wars' version of FF7's Sephiroth -- no wonder people drool all over him). By the end of KotOR you have some feelings about Malak. He has a background, he has motivations, he has recognizable speech... I don't see how people can possibly like Nihilus better than Malak.
Nihilus has no personality and no motivation beyond primal instincts. As flat as Malak's character may be, at least he has some character.

Yeah, it was nice that they took the effort to develop his character so much.

Isn't it amazing how they can give life and personality to Nihilus and T3-M4, who say nothing but nonsense that isn't even translated?

Not really... since neither Nihilus or T3-M4 had any personality.
They did fine with R2-D2, but they didn't even try with T3-M4, for the most part. Especially in K1.

I'm not sure what I can say about Nihilus, but I agree that T3 was an actual character.

T3 is a droid, it isn't even necessary to give him a character.
I'll admit, Nihilus has a lot of room to be developed into a very interesting character given proper backstory, but KotOR III is way too far off even to consider counting that. And in game, the planet eater gets taken down like he's a playground bully. First time I played the game, I thought I was in for an actual fight.

Why do people think that Nihilus being easy to defeat in the game's mechanics is somehow a gigantic strike against his character?

This is straying from the topic, but Bao-Dur has always had more computer use, repair, and security ability than any two of my party members combined.

Nihilus: No vocabulary; impossible to understand; had the chances against my party like a snowball would have in hell; no backstory.
Malak: Cool story; decent vocabulary; can understand him; beat me too many times to count.
Hmm.... I think that Malak is the winner here.
Nihilus: Garble, blarg, roar. (Translated: I hate you so much!)

^ Ever considered compatibility mode? Or...removing the keyboard from your monitor might help as well
I think Nihilus would win. Malak is nothing more then a Jedi turned DS, whilst Nihilus is PURE evilness and Sith (he was supposed to be the evil side of the Exile, split off because of all the terror that happened on Malachor).
Nihilus is also more powerfull in matters of power. He has been consumed to an insane level, while Malak isn't.
Plus, one of the devs. original ideas was to have Nihilus wear Revan's skull...which makes him stronger then Revan, and Revan was stronger then Malak

The Exile must be a true beast when it comes to the Force then, because she makes short work of Nihilus.

That's simply failed gameplay. They didn't even have time to work out Nihilus backstory. We heared the theory about the split halfs in an interview with the creator of the game, actually.
But yeah. I think he was FAR underpowered for what he's supposed to be. He should be at least just as strong as the PC.

I agree with this 100%, but I like to speculate so it makes me a Nihilus fan. I appreciated Malak's story, and I thought it was well developed, but that didn't make me like Malak any more than if it had been void of development like Nihilus' story was. The point is Malak is a douche bag, with decent force sensitivity and a lot of brute strength. That's not likeable for me, especially as a Dark Lord of the Sith. Malak makes a much better apprentice.
I will agree Nihilus is a bit silly, but the little we do know about him piques my interest. Based on what we know, I like Nihilus better than Malak.
Additionally, some people pointed out that Nihilus isn't more powerful because he didn't take over the sith even though he could "eat" the force...? This is stupid, IMO. Kreia clearly states that Nihilus isn't a true Sith because he doesn't care about killing Jedi or enhancing the Sith; he only cares for his survival, which is dependent on "eating" the force. His nihilistic belief/attitude fits well with his name. In some ways this makes him more dangerous than a Sith Lord.
