I actually just wanted people to know that I want that Grim poster too.
I've seen people do that before.

Wow Laserschwert, regarding that ToMI poster of yours... it's absolutely amazing! If I may, I'd like to request something; would you be so kind as to provide a version of that same poster w/o the.. -I don't know how to call them- marks that make it like an old painting? I mean, the 'cracks' that are found all over it. Don't mistake me though, I LOVE your work, it's just I'd like to see a clean version of it if possible. Thank you in advance!

THANK YOU LASERSCHWERT!! You're an amazing digital artist :-). In my opinion, the Drew Struzan alike version is an absolute winner!

Sooo... since "The Dig" was one of the first posters I've tackled for my project, I think it's time to at last make a decent version of it. So, it's in the works:

(As always, click for a bigger version)
The version with the four astronauts was actually easier to do, since the fourth guy (or was it a girl?) helped me cover up the LucasArts-logo on the cover. I still have to find a bit of material to paint the logo out of the three-astronaut-version.

Thanks Laserschwert, been waiting for Loom for a while. Great work!
Is it just me, or is the text version of Loom corrupted?

I've re-uploaded it a few hours ago, since it WAS corrupted... but now everything should be working fine... maybe try re-downloading it? If the MediaFire-link causes trouble, just get it from Rob's FTP (the link can be found in the opening post).
Coming soonish:
It's made from a magazine ad... can anybody decypher the signature?
Chomey? Chorney? I've googled, but found nothing... any guesses?

I have no idea. I even googled Chotney, Chopney and Chofney.
I've never seen this one though.
It looks cool, even thoug the headshots are a little bit off.

It's probably this guy.

I can't find that Dig poster on the site, but he's done some other Lucas stuff, and the signature looks the same.

YES! Good find... and I've actually been to his site before... weird. Cool thing, now we can properly credit him (and I can bug him about the original artwork).

Lol. "chorney art" puts him right at the top of Google (at least for me). It's interesting to note that he seems to have worked on Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade... Did he do the final poster art? If he didn't, then Drew Struzan owes him a thanks!

Yeah, I don't know why I failed at googling him... Crusade's final poster art was done by Struzan, but who knows who "got inspired" by whom?
Anyway, the layout of the thing was pretty much determined by the ad:
It's a pity that it's cropped on the right side, so it can't be centered. There is a landscape-version of the ad, which works a bit better composition-wise:
Let's hope Steve will reply, and fix me up with the full artwork.

Yeah, that landscape version does look a lot better.
I think it's pretty clear that Drew S. must have at least seen Steven's C's stuff... it has so much in common. Also, it's interesting to note that SC did some Indy Crystal Skull stuff. Maybe they just paid him for some ideas and DS takes over the rest?

What makes you think that Chorney did those drawings first? For all we know they could've been made AFTER Struzan made the main movie poster, and Chorney was asked to mimic that style for other advertisement stuff... they could've even be made years later, for advertising merchandise, video-releases and whatnot...
I somehow doubt that Struzan was the type to use other people's concepts... it was done to him with the "Young Indy" video covers, and he hated that.

Well, the Chorney Last Crusade posters do say "preliminary" but that doesn't necessarily mean before Struzan.

I know this is a LucasArts poster thread, I hope you don't mind posting anyway. (Just let me know if it's off limits.)
Here is a project suggestion for Laserschwert. Click for the hires images.
(removed on violating LucasArts theme, sorry)

You didn't actually suggest a project... what IS the project?
Edit: Oh, you want the big one to have the color of the smaller one... well, no. That's not really part of this project here.

To restore the picture as you see fit. We had some ideas on our own, not anything major though.

Sure, was just an idea, saw "ICO" and "Neverhood", thought there is a place for deviations. But I rather support LucasArts here of course. I immediately ordered my poster, by the way.

Yeah, I think the deviation goes as far as "other games"... preferrably adventure-games.
