Star Wars: Blade of War

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

STAR WARS: BLADE OF WAR

Two years after the JEDI EXILE defeated Darth Traya at Malachor V and set off for the Unknown Regions to find DARTH REVAN, Dark Lord of the Sith, another searcher wanders. Known as the LIEUTENANT, she was not at Malachor when the EXILE severed ties with the Force. Rather, she was on a lookout vessel flying high above the planet when the Mass Shadow Generator was activated. She saw the rush of death that engulfed the planet, and she swore such destruction would never happen again.

The Lieutenant has seen many things in the course of seven years, including the massive poverty, disease and crime of the present. The blade of war that Darth Revan promised to stab into the heart of the galaxy has withdrawn. Times may seem peaceful, but the Lieutenant knows that Revan is the only one who can cleave the chaos asunder and bring order and peace at last.

3958 BBY: Lieutenant's Log: Korriban Ruins

Revan wasn't here. That much the Lieutenant knew from a preliminary survey of the crumbling and ash-covered ruins of the Sith academy at Korriban. She could not sense him in the Force, or even a trace of his rage-filled presence, but that was no surprise. No one had been here at all- for quite a few years, perhaps seven or eight according to her own estimation. The Academy was littered with broken shards of sacred urns, rusty remains of battle droids long broken, and corpses desiccated by the heat and dust the planet stirred up.

Still, there was some value in exploring these remains of what had once been the headquarters of the Sith. The Lieutenant found some rare and dark-hued crystals for her own weapon, a silver-bladed, double-edged lightsaber. There were also broken holocrons and half-buried datapads amid the rubble, which she would be glad to take back to her quarters on her antique courier vessel. If the items were valuable enough, she might earn enough credits to buy a brand-new ship and venture out for the Unknown Regions herself, but in the meantime she had to make do with these archaeological scavenger hunts. She had not deigned to find regular employment anywhere in the galaxy, preferring to keep out of the sight of bounty hunters and anyone else who might have a vested interest in capturing those who served Lord Revan.

The Lieutenant sighed. She had searched these ruins for hours, and she was sure that a few scratched holocrons and shards of pottery would not fetch her much in the way of wages. She thought about selling her lightsaber, but that would do no good when she needed the weapon she'd used since the final battle on Malachor V. No one would buy her courier vessel, either, even as a trade-in at some junkyard. She listened deeply through the Force...

Sam'kil Oscheha meditated, using the force to search for any enemys of the republic. As always, they were only on the unknown regions, but their were some smatterings of dark energy on Korriban, but nothing to be afraid of. Sam'kil opened his eyes, to see everything around him floating, including Dustil.
" Sam'kil, if you'd be so kind, please let me down!" Dustil said in a very calm voice.
" Oops, sorry Dustil, but you should know better than to get close to me when I'm Meditating." Sam'kil responded.

Deep thought #1: In the end, everyone dies. No one can outrun time, death itself is always breathing down your neck, just waiting to slip the noose over you. But, in your time of death, what matters is not when or how or even why. What matters is what you do with it. Do you sit down and call it quits, or do you get up, stare your killer and death itself in the face, and laugh copiously, right until the end.

Lyon Archer was laying on a bed in a room he purchased upon a transport vessel. He wasn't positive where it was going, one of the many times he purchased several tickets for transport vessels to throw off anyone who might be trying to track him. He made sure each ticket would be used however, just so it be harder to locate him.

He laid there staring upon the smooth cold metal ceiling thinking back upon his life. The order had betrayed his thoughts and ideals of a Jedi by not helping the republic when they needed the Jedi most. The council suggested patients, allow the bigger threat to reveal itself. But Lyon grew impatient watching many good Republic officers perish. When Revan offered a chance to fight back he quickly snatched up the opportunity.

After the events on Malachore V Lyon followed Revan willingly, fighting the republic he once swore to protect. Hoping for his chance to show the Order how weak they truly were for hiding away in the corners of they're enclaves. But when Revan was betrayed by Malak, Lyon knew he had to go on his own path. Malak was brutal but he didn't have a true plan like Revan did.

Lyon sighed as he sat up on the bed and looked at the door. He was now in self Exile, re-examining his life wondering what he should do next. He kept hoping that one day Revan would return to bring order and balance to the force. So secretly he has been searching for Revan, hoping one day he would run into his former lord and master.

"Well might as well find something to eat" he mumbled coldly to himself as he stood upon his feet and walked out of the room and started walking towards the dining hall of the ship.

...and when she heard a pulse in it, Vtorym sensed a fellow servant of Lord Revan!

The Lieutentant immediately clambered out of the crumbling burial chamber in the decimated Academy at Korriban and headed outside. She had made a home for herself at the deserted spaceport of Dreshdae, tended only by a few droids who made the base home for any archaeologists or scavengers who were still interested in the ruins of the Sith. Not many came to Korriban these days, seeing as how all of the most priceless holocrons and ceremonial artifacts had already been plundered. Still, there were a chosen (some would say crazy) few, such as Vtorym, who would not give up. Surely the salvagers had missed some clue, some vital piece of the puzzle as to where Lord Revan had gone! He wouldn't leave the answer behind in something obvious!

She turned to C2-D1, an astromech and utility droid who monitored ship traffic.

"C2," she said, "please send out a hailing signal from this port, which isn't totally abandoned. If any vessels are passing this way, offer them a safe place to land." The droid tweetled and beeped. "No, I'm not Sith. I don't intend to kill our visitors. That was one thing Lord Revan taught me--why kill when random violence weakens you?" C2 beeped and carried out her orders.

(Due to my character's race his grammar and wording won't be excact, as the translation will obviously have flaw's. Like doing French-->English really)

"I was on Byss lately. Human's are in disarray and that place is falling apart. Can't really stay there, must find answer's. Heard of dark world, some call it Korriban, hope to learn more there. Ship is descending now, soon I will walk upon the surface. I wonder if it is anything like my homeworld, but I don't think so. Memories of Kashyyyk bring tear's to my eye's, but I can't return yet, still to much to do. I been working on translator device, got help from nice Human, I think it might work soon. Alternatively I find a Human who know's my language, maybe they would be my partner. Not had partner before, just alone. I can hear the ship's engine's begin to slow, probaly mean we are coming into atmosphere. Yes, I walk upon surface very soon. Got to go now, Pilot say's to strap in, thankful I can understand Basic, too bad I can't speak it."

Lyon sat upon the chair in the dining hall slowly pulling apart pieces of bread and putting it in his mouth as he felt the ship slow down and land upon the planets surface. He stood up from the chair picking up his robe and placing it back over his shoulders. As he walked to the loading ramp he raised his hood over his head to conceal his face. The sound of the outside seemed familiar, more familiar then he'd like it to be.

"So I've come back to Korriban" he said to himself quietly looking at the ground as he walked. In some way it felt like he was returning home. Maybe the force had brought him back here? Maybe to look for missed clue about Revans disappearance?

He could sense something however, another strong in the force. Lyon wasn't sure if he should seek this person out or not, but what ever fate would bring he wouldn't fight it, he'd merely accept it as such.

Vtorym received an answering response on the shuttlecomm--her signal was being answered! Bringing the image up on screen, she saw two vessels coming in to dock at the Dreshdae spaceport's main landing pads. She was delighted! Hopefully, the ships contained friends and fellow seekers of the Dark Lord. If so, she would be ecstatic to have some company. If not...well, she did have her dvyxplanochniy, her silver double-bladed staff, as well as two separate sabers hanging from her belt in case of the direst emergencies.

She exited the Dreshdae main building and Sith welcome center, raising her hands high in the universal gesture for surrender. Vtorym had not come to fight, but to greet the visitor or visitors to this barren planet. Behind her tottered L1-3D5, a rusty and gregarious protocol droid, just in case she didn't speak the newcomers' language. Perhaps a little too hastily, the droid said:

"Greetings. I am L1-3D5, and this is Lieutenant Vtorym, my Master. Welcome to Korriban and the Dreshdae spaceport. How may I orient you to the planet?"

Lyon didn't respond to the droid, or pay any attention to the female that was with her. He wasn't here for socialization but for much needed answers. His gray clock flowed slightly behind him with his brisk walk past the two that were greeting the arriving visitors. Lyon's destination was the Valley of the Dark Lords. He hoped that he would find the answers he was looking for there.

Everything seemed to be as he remembered as he walked threw the space port into the academy. The academy was in ruins, pillars had fallen down, walls callasped, the place slowly was still meeting its demise. Lyon shook his head feeling a little disappointed that this place had now become so weak with time. This academy once filled with young hopefuls looking for something to call they're own, to write they're name down some where in history, now losted, and forgotten.

Lyon grinning and let out a small chuckle "If only Revan saw this now. He would be disappointed at our failure. Our weakness."

Rip-Tooth strapped on his harness and belt as he attatched the Bowcaster to his back. He also took his vibroblade's and a small green orb, with gold inscription's smothering the surface. It glowed a vibrant emerald, it's brilliant sheen a huge contrast to the glimmering gold. He placed it in a spherical holder, tapping it twice to ensure it was secured safely. Rip-Tooth carried a large trunk under his left arm, with a small bag slung over his right shoulder. The trunk did not weigh much to him, due to his innate strength and size. He moved with purpose over to the pair of onlooker's, briefly exchanging glance's with them.

He let off a minor snarl, or hello in his tongue. He gave the Wookie equivalent of a smile to the pair and gestured to a nearby mountain. He inquired in his language as to whether that was the academy he had come for.

L1-3D5 translated for the benefit of the perplexed Vtorym: "The alien wishes to know if that structure to which he is pointing is the ruined Sith Academy on this planet."

Vtorym cursed herself for not being able to speak the Wookiee's language. During her tenure with Lord Revan, she had not come across many of them--or, rather, she had, but she had never had the chance to speak with one. That was left up to the Czerka Corporation personnel, who usually spoke with shouts, snarls, stunners and blasters.

"If you please, L1, would you tell our visitor that the Academy is indeed what he sees?"

"Certainly." The protocol droid turned to the Wookiee. "That is the Sith Academy. After the Dark Lord Revan departed for the Unknown Regions, the Sith remnants turned upon themselves, destroying their work and almost all of their artifacts in the process. If you wish to explore the ruins, my Master and I invite you to do so at your leisure."

The Lieutenant nodded and smiled, inviting the Wookie to advance toward the site. As for herself, she would return to Dreshdae, knowing that the ruins held nothing more.

He laughed. Rip-Tooth offered the female his orb, quickly demonstrating how to align the pattern's. He imittated twisting the center and then applying pressure to five circular indentation's. The result was a brief display of dancing light's, but immediately a strong presence could be felt in the ruin's of the Academy. He again offered her the orb.

"Hmm," said Vtorym, aligning the patterns. She felt something shift within the pulses and silences of the Force, and this both alarmed and delighted her. She bowed to the Wookiee in thanks, and then gestured toward the Academy. "I...follow you?" She had never seen that orb before, and its magnificence entranced her. Once, her mind had been like a durasteel wall, trained to resist tricks of the Force, but no more.

Now, she was an open book, and the two set out across the desert toward the ruins.

Dustil ran towards Sam'kil's room, knocking before he entered.
Sam'kil stopped his meditation and opened the door through the force. " Admiral Dustil, good to see you again! What news do you bring me?" Sam'kil said as he reached through the force...
" We've got a transmission, it came from Korriban!" Dustil said in a hushed tone.
Sam'kil stopped everything. Korriban, the sith tomb world...
" Admiral, change course for Korriban, We need to investigate, this could easily be an attempted revival of the sith" Sam'kil ordered Dustil.
" Yes, Master Jedi, We'll be there within the next three hours." Dustil said.
Sam'kil smiled, he'd make sure the Sith don't escape this... He looked at his lightsaber, finally he'd find use for it again.
Several hours later...
Sam'kil arrived at the loading ramp, the ship had made it to Korriban.
This is it!

Lyon knelt down upon his knee's in the middle of the center room in the academy. He closed his eyes and slowly took a deep breath in and out. Going into a meditated trance was easy for him, but unfortunately he could easily be disturbed by it. He reached out his mind sensing if this place still held on to his dark power. And there beyond everything, beyond the noise of the ships engines, and the dying screams of animals upon this planet was the worlds powers.

Still so strong in the dark side of the force, the corruptible taint upon this planet. The first time he set foot upon this planet he would feel it strongly run through his veins, echoing through his soul. Lyon knew this place called him back here, whether it was to find something he wasn't sure, but he knew it was some kind of plan that he was dragged into that brought him back to his planet.

In the background of everything he could sense it, soon he wouldn't be alone in this room. Soon the force user that greeted everyone, and another creature would be in this room. He sighed softly continuing his meditation, keeping his hood pulled over his head, concealing his face.

As they walked toward's the Academy, Rip-Tooth revealed a few other artifact's from his bag. Each was likely priceless and most touched by Revan himself. The orb itself had abilities beyond even the force, but it was unlikely that anyone could unlock such power. He indicated a small azure patch on the orb and drew his finger down it. Instantly the orb shifted again, new blue pattern's etching themselves into the silver. He said to the Droid about how complex it was, but left much to the imagination.

"My, my, that is an exceedingly complicated artifact," fretted the droid. "What in space does it do, and how come you can wield it with those gigantic hands of yours?" The Lieutenant glared at L1-3D5, and the bronze protocol machine mumbled its way into silence. He humbly followed behind the uniformed woman, mincing his steps through the scorching sand of the Korriban desert. He was truly unaccustomed to being outside for long periods of time, and he feared his gears would get full of grit...

When they reached the Academy, the Lieutenant turned and meditated for a brief moment. "He is here," she said, "the cloaked one. We must be wary, but I don't think he will do us any harm unless we attack first. Now," said Lord Revan's officer, "what was it you wanted to show me?" L1-3D5 cleared his mechanical throat and translated.

Sam'kil stepped off the ship with a few Republic Marines. He looked back down at his lightsaber, the intricate design welling up pride in him. He may be a Jedi, but he's still Human. The Marines did their standard crouch-run towards the academy, Sam'kil just walked forward, whatever was here wasn't about to start firing at them yet.
Sam'kil made it to the Shyrack caves, and he sent four Marines in their, best to be cautious. Then they made it to the Academy, the stone doors ornately designed. Sam'kil waved his hand, the door opening up and revealing the things hidden within.
Sam'kil stepped forward, entering the unknown.

Lyon could sense something coming, it wasn't just the greeters it was something else. Something that lingered for longer then it should with the refusal of death. Placing his hands upon his knees he stood up. He kept his head tilted down and eyes shut, reaching out his mind his thoughts to sense the other presence that lurked with in the shadows. Slowly he detected several lingering individuals. Former Sith maybe, or something else. No, the several individuals was a lie, it was one being one spirit that remained. But this spirit wasn't of the darker side of all things but instead dwelled in the light of good and peace.

Lyon moved his hand and placed it upon his lightsaber. His lightsaber was completely black, with gold trim winding down the handle on four sides evenly spaced apart. His eyes shifted around the room in front of him as he activated it. The silver glow reflected from the side of his robe and upon the floor, illuminating the cracks and creases of torturous time and decay.

"Your presence not belong here Jedi. May I make a suggestion that you move on, before I escort you myself" Lyon said loudly allowing his voice to echo off the stone walls and vibrate through the rooms.

Then a realization came to him, it wasn't a force spirit but reminiscence of a force user. There was a battle here after this place had been abandoned, forgotten about. It wasn't a battle of absolute evil and absolute good, but two grays fighting for they're own ideals and purposes.

Lyon grinned a little "It would seem I'm out of focus."

Sam'kil had his lightsaber in his hand, It looked brutal, the spike at the end was shimmering in what little light there was, and the Cortosis Handguard with a sharpened edge gave him adrenaline, the Sith here must be waiting for him somwhere, the fact that noone had tried to slice him in half yet was proof enough.
Sam'kil reached the middle of the academy, right where Master Uthar would just sit and meditate, then he felt something, their was a Sith here.
Sam'kil motioned through the two branchs off the main room, the Marines went through them, searching for the threat he sensed. Then he made his way towards the Cantina, that's where the Sith were.
