Kotor 3 MMO Vs. Rpg

I know they are making a kotor 3 mmo but I would of prefered An Rpg one like in 1 and 2.Which would you have prefered?

If they make a KOTOR III it should definetly be an RPG.
I hate to get off topic here but with respect to the MMO I thought that while it takes place in the general time frame of Revan it was not KOTOR III. It is titled The Old Republic.

It's actually set WAY after KotOR 2, about 300 years. And honestly, after how disapointed I was with Star Wars Galaxies, I am really excited about Bioware making this as an MMO.

This is not a normal MMO. It is designed to be story driven, the classes have social functions as well as combat ones and there will be cinematic dialog and full voice acting for the whole game . I really expect the experience to be less like World of Warcraft and more like a multiplayer Kotor.

Honestly, bioware hasn't let me down yet.

Besides, just because they are making an old republic MMO doesn't mean they won't make another single player Kotor game at some point. I actually think it makes it more likely.

I would prefer a RPG over an MMO, but I still think that I will buy the MMO anyway, It would be great if in the future Lucas arts could make a RPG about the old republic.

Single Player RPG!

After experiencing the fantastic job on Mass Effect, I can only imagine what a SPRPG K3 made now would be like... MINDBLOWING.

I'm not too sure about it because the graphics, models and that trailer are awesome! I have Star Wars Galaxies but..............it is BIG failure. I liked both K1 and TSL so I would really want to see the continuation. For now.......let's just say I'm looking forward the MMO

I would definitely have preferred an RPG, however if BioWare delivers on its commitments for this MMO it could be rather good fun.

Besides, being repeatedly beaten online by other members of the LF community and the inevitable post-battle forum-based mocking may be entertaining!

TOR sucks. Seriously. I want KOTOR 3 now. TFU and The Clone Wars game suck badly. Give us KOTOR 3! I want to see Revan and the Exile!

I hope they will make a PVP Star Wars game with insane Force Powers, that will be fun.

More realistically thinking they will see this as little interest in the Old Republic era and not fund another game for it.

MMO's are all crap. This new MMO will be crap. You have to pay monthly for MMO's which makes them stupid money wasting crap.

That would be TOR potentially. A PVP Star Wars game would have to be an MMO.

Thats a very generalized statement, not all MMO's are crap or pay monthly.

Problem is some people want an official K3 not a overhaul mod. I don't really care, if its fun and as story driven as they say. I'll play it.

I don't. While I definitely would have preferred a K3, I do not want this game to fail. That wouldn't bode well for the series as a whole, I think.
I want to see Revan and the Exile too but apparently they never made it back from the Unknown Regions.

I also am not happy about paying a monthly fee but I guess I better start saving now.

Kotor 3 will be as Shenmue 3. Tow great stories incompletes and their creators prefer to make other stupid games.

^^^Sadly, I think you're right. If they don't make an attempt (which *strongly* risks botching) at little more than grabbing $$$, the only other course is to leave it incomplete.

Definitely Single Player RPG...

MMOs may "in theory" have a good story and setting deep down in there
somewhere but it is not something you ever really come to know about...
It is lost and forgotten in the endless frustrating grinding...

I would, of course, love to see a true KOTOR 3, but at the same time I will likely play The Old Republic, and frankly would like to see someone succeed where so many others have failed and give WoW some competition in the genre.

There is no doubt that Blizzard did it, and continues to do it right and thus they are making millions. I think if any new MMO has a chance at that kind of success it will be this one given the enormous amount of interest in the Star Wars universe. Galaxies could have done more, but Sony completely botched the handling of the game.

At any rate, as I said, I would love to see another RPG sequel to KOTOR come from Bioware and Lucasarts, and perhaps when TOR is out and established, and if it is successful we will. At the same time I'm not discounting TOR completely, and will definitely give it a shot.

Meh. RPG's are way better than MMO's. That's just the way it is. In RPG's you don't have to deal with all the annoying people who do their best to ruin the experience for everyone else just because they got n00b pwn3d by the first boss.
