Republic Commando 2- my fanfic

Fueling Station, Kachirho, Kashyyyk
785 Standard Days (2 Years 49 Days) After the Battle of Geonosis

The thunderous boom of the turret deafened Scorch. He had been shooting at the Separatist cruiser for what seemed like hours, but was only mere minutes. The ship’s shields were buckling underneath the suppressive fire that he and his squad had been throwing at it. The ripples of the energy shield began to vanish as the shields were drained and reassuring chunks of metal began falling off and crashing in the circular fueling depot beneath.

“Delta, bombing run commenced, keep firing!” The advisor’s voice crackled in over the comm system. His voice was slightly muted by the continuous thud of the turret.

Within seconds a squadron of V-19 fighters flew in overhead and fired a volley of proton torpedoes. The cruiser’s bow and stern began to separate and dip downward as it began to snap at the middle.

As another bombing run was made, more and more internal detonations could be felt through the air. Chunks of the hull and battle droids that slipped out of breaches in the hull continued to crash in the depot, some landing frightening close to Scorch.

As the explosions became more prominent and more frequent, Boss yelled something over the comm. Scorch didn’t understand any bit of it.

The final bombing run was made and the volleys of rockets were shot from the turrets, resulting in a blinding flash that even the polar screen of Scorch’s visor couldn’t block. The flash subsided and the last bits of metal and fire crashed on the jungle floor beneath and the base of the fueling depot.

“Excellent job, Delta. Regroup at 38’s position.” The Advisor said. Scorch, Fixer and Sev made their way over to Boss’s position, awed by the massacre that he left on his way to his turret.

“BOSS I’VE GOT A PROBLEM HERE!” Sev screamed over the comm. The sound of droidekas deploying themselves and firing echoed in the background.

“Seven? Seven? What’s wrong?” Boss asked.

“Signal lost, sir.” Fixer informed the rest of the squad.

“Well find it again, damn it!”

“Lead, get out of there. There’s no time to search for him. You’ve got orders to retreat.” The Advisor jumped in.

“I don’t care if they came from Master Yoda himself.”

“As a matter of fact, they did.”

“We can’t just leave him behind!” Scorch shouted “Forty?”

“He’s right, sir. We have to fall back.” Fixer said.

Boss didn’t say anything, he just jumped into the cargo bay of the LAAT/i and knelt down. Fixer and Scorch followed. Scorch looked out the starboard door and tried to find Sev; there was no sign of Sev or droids.

The larty began to rise toward the treetops. Halfway up, Fixer threw down the holo-projector.

“Pull yourselves together squad. One commando is not worth risking an entire operation.” Advisor’s hologram said.

“One commando? He’s talking about my pod brother!” Scorch yelled.

“Hold on, what do you mean ‘an entire operation’?” Boss asked.

Scorch looked away from the hologram a muttered a string of profanity.

“Your team was the advance force for a full-scale Republic invasion. I had strict orders not to tell you. It was your reconnaissance, your intel that verified the operation. And now the invasion has begun.” The hologram faded away as the larty breached the canopy.

Republic Navy operators and pilots threw around coordinates and orders. Above the larty, dozens Republic assault ships and countless squadrons V-19 fighters flew overhead, diving toward the surface of Kashyyyk.

“Look, Boss. It’s the invasion force.” An awestruck Scorch said. It was as if he had forgotten all his sorrow and anger, although Boss knew that it was only temporary.

“Taking the city was only the beginning.” Fixer said.

“I’ve never seen so many ships before.”

“Yes, sir. Yes, I’ll patch you through right away,” The Advisor flashed up on the holo-projector. “Listen up Deltas.”

“All Republic forces establish forward command in Kachirho.” The hologram flashed and changed to none other than Jedi Master Yoda.

“Is that really who I think it is?” Scorch said.

“Rendezvous with Delta Squad we must. Upon them we rest much hope. Wookiee freedom must not be sacrificed.” Yoda’s little image flashed away and reformed into the Advisor.

“Sorry Deltas, looks like it’s back to the action. You have your orders.”

“Delta Squad, lock and load.” Boss said as the larty doors shut and locked.

That was a good first chapter! I know it came from the game, but you wrote and phrased it perfectly. I can't wait to hear what comes from your mind commando.

QUICK NOTE: im terribly sorry about the delay. writer's block is the biggest reason. and also, ive got other project that require attention so... anyways, enjoy.
NOTICE: ive noticed a few typos as i read through this, some minor, others major. if you do happen to notice any, please email me or leave a comment on my page. thanks for the support

Port Barracks, Liberator, High Orbit, Hypori
3 Standard Weeks after Delta’s Mission to Kashyyyk/ 806 Standard Days (2 Years and 70 Days) After the Battle of Geonosis

“Fixer. Wake up, Fixer,” A consistent voice said. “Fixer, it’s about Scorch. Wake up. That’s an order soldier!”

“Yes, sir!” Fixer bolted right up and saluted. He opened his eyes to see Boss right in his face, shaking him wildly. “What is it, Three-Eight?”

“It’s Scorch; he’s gone!”

“He just got out his bunk, grabbed his kit and left.”

“Did you follow him?”

“Yeah, he went to the hangar and began prepping up a shuttle.”

“Why didn’t you confront him?”

“’Cause we’re going to stow away on that shuttle.”

“What? We can’t do that. You know how many rules and regulations we’ll be breaking?” Boss wasn’t listening; he was just gearing up. “Lead, Lead? Oh, fierfek.” Fixer quietly got up from his bunk and suited up.

“We’ll want to travel light. Just grab your deece and pistol.” Boss said. The two grabbed their blasters and headed out the door.

“Oh, I just know I’m going to regret this.” Fixer muttered as the door closed behind him.

The halls were cluttered with troopers going about on tedious inspections and shift changes. Very few took notice on the commandos’ presence. Those that did either saluted or stared.

As they approached the hangar, the sound of a nearly-ready-to-launch shuttle could be heard. They approached that hangar doors and stopped. Boss peered into the shuttle bay. Scorch was making final preparations by loading up extra blaster clips and fuel checks.

“Okay, when he unplugs the fuel pipes and heads up the ramp, we’ll make a run for the shuttle and hide in a storage compartment.” Boss planned out.

“Respectfully, sir, but we won’t fit into those tiny compartments.”

“Oh we’ll fit. You just have to work it out.” Fixer said nothing.

The pipes unplugged and Scorch began to head up the ramp. Boss jumped into a roadie run for the shuttle ramp. Fixer hesitated and closely followed. Inside the shuttle, Boss looked for empty compartments as Fixer kept a look out for Scorch. Boss couldn’t find any, forcing him to empty out one for himself and another for Fixer.

“Like I said, I know I’m going to regret this.” Fixer mumbled as he crawled into the claustrophobic space.

Sev being was beaten, bruised, burnt and tortured. A small window revealed blue sky and a mountain similar in shape to a Geonosian spire, and the sound of alien songbirds can be heard. This prison, so it appeared to be, was of a very crude design, clearly Trandoshan. The interrogator then showed his face, he was Aqualish. He was handed Sev’s cherished DC-17m blaster with the sniper attachment. The interrogator examined the rifle and then aimed at Sev’s shaved, bloodied, ragged head and fired. A flash of blue and a spray of red ended it. Sev’s headless body then crashed to the floor and-

“NO! SEV!” Scorch awoke, covered in cold sweat and feeling nauseous.

The others wouldn’t understand. They were too focused on their orders, not their morals. It was wrong to leave Sev on Kashyyyk. Nobody cared. They were all clones; faceless, mindless, soulless drones of the Republic. They were no better than droids; without a purpose other than personal greed. Sergeant Kal Skirata would have gone after Sev, Walon Vau would have too. But no matter, if Scorch were to find Sev, then maybe his nightmares would end.

Scorch stumbled to the back of the shuttle, he tripped over something. He averted his blurry gaze to the floor. It was a first aid kit. He rubbed his eyes and looked around the deck; ammo crates and grenade packs had been strewn across the shuttle.

Scorch injected himself with nausea meds and then walked over to the storage compartments. A faint thump came from two of the compartments. Scorch opened one and…

“Oh shab.”

“Fixer?” He opened the other. “Boss? What are you doing here?”

“Trying to stop you,” Fixer said as he stretched and popped his neck. “Oh that feels good. It’s time to go back to the Liberator.”

“No, I’m not going back.”

“Yes, you are.” Boss said.

“No, I’m not.”

“Six-two, face it, Oh-seven’s dead.” Fixer laid his foot down.

“No! He’s not! I know what I’m doing!”

“So you’re just going to abandon the Republic after everything we’ve done to protect it? You’re going rogue, just like the Alphas? What would Oh-seven do were he in your position?”

“He’d come to my aid. I have to do this. If it’s going to end my nightmares, then it’s worth it.”

“What nightmares?”

Scorch explained his nightmares in full detail as Boss and Fixer listened intently.

“Why didn’t you tell us?” Boss asked.

“Because you wouldn’t listen to me,” Scorch snapped. “It got so bad that I requested a councilor. I ended up being visited by Master Yoda. He told me that that the Force is trying to tell me that Sev is still alive, that I should go to where these nightmares are happening.”

“Was that an order or a suggestion?” Fixer interrupted.

“I couldn’t tell. You know how the Jedi are; full of mystery and riddles.”

“Where is this shuttle heading for?” Boss asked.

“How do you know Seven’s there?”

“The songbirds exclusive to the planet, the unusual population of Aqualish. You know, rule number fifty-six: always check your intel. Plus, I just know he’s there.”

“The first two I understand, Six-two. But that last one is one of the biggest loads of osik I have ever heard,” Fixer crossed his arms. “But whatever. ETA to Ando?”

“Another hour or two. How about a nice piece of osik that the nutritionists call food?”

“I think I’ll take a nap.”

“A nap for me, too,” Boss said. “Enjoy your ‘meal,’ Six-two.” And as he plopped down in a seat, bones cracking and armor clanking, Boss fell asleep.

The vortex of hyperspace always hypnotized Scorch. The beauty of the endless, swirling blue was impossible to describe. The annoying alarm that alerted pilots they were approaching was the only thing that could break Scorch’s trance.

Scorch pulled the shuttle out of hyperspace and gasped as the tiny shuttle, undetectable by Separatist sensors, nearly crashed into the bow of a massive Recusant-class light destroyer. The sight of the behemoth forced horrid memories into Scorch’s mind; memories of the mission to Kashyyyk, of Sev’s disappearance.

As the trauma of the mission began to fade, Scorch realized that he was on the floor, covered in cold sweat. Fixer had pushed Scorch out of the seat and took over the controls.

“What happened?”

“You brought us out of hyperspace not only too close to the planet,” Boss said, helping Scorch up. “But too close to a Sep cruiser.”

“We missed it by nearly a dozen meters. But we’ve got worse problems than nearly hitting a Separatist cruiser.” Fixer added.

“We’re coming in at too steep an angle. It’ll take time to fix the angle of the descent, but I can do it.”

“Well hurry up. I don’t want to become a no man squad.”

Scorch finally came out the dizzying trance that he was in and looked out the window. The vast ocean world was slowly being consumed by fire. But it wasn’t on fire; the shuttle was entering the planet’s atmosphere. Soon green blobs became landmasses with massive volcanoes and dotted with small cities.

The shuttle zoomed past the mountain in Scorch's dream eventually came into view. Scorch pointed it out and Fixer began to circle the mountain. On the northern side of the mountain was a Trandoshan fortress.

Upon seeing the fortress, Fixer looked for a spot to land when an alarm sounded off. Boss looked at a flashing light above the radar screen. A red blip was quickly approaching the center of the screen that symbolized the shuttle.
"Fixer, what is that?"

"It could be anything; an enemy probe, fighter or missile," A loud explosion rumbled through the shuttle. "And it's a missile," Out the viewport the world began spinning in circles. A trail of oily, black smoke followed where the port wing once was. "I've lost control of her. We're going to crash."

"Delta, get your helmets on, brace for impact!" With a thud, and the sound of breaking tree branches and crunching durasteel, Boss was thrown on the floor and everything went dark.

UPDATE: i promise chapter 2 will be up by the end of the week. ive got testing going on at school so i havent been working on nonacademic projects as much as usual. and i also have an important announcement: as many of you know, there are long delays between my writings. but i have another, original (albeit nonStar-Wars), story that i have been working on frivolously. i admit i have been placing most of my attention into that project (i do wish that many of you check it out in the Coruscant Entertainment Center). so after chapter 2 there will be an indefinate delay on this Republic Commando fic. i am no stranger to indefinate delays. my imagination knows no limits, so i have many ideas bubbling in my tiny mind, and i have more than just 2 stories. there are 2 others that i probably will not actually write out, but merely draw, and have been taking a break from for quite some time. so again: chapter 2 will be up by saturday, and after that there will be an indefinate postponing of the rest of this story. i am terribly sorry.

Somewhere on Ando
Time and date unknown

The rustling of jungle foliage was the first thing Boss heard. Then he heard Fixer's heavy breathing. Boss eventually opened his eyes and saw that he was facing backwards, but moving forwards. His entire body hurt, but his head hurt most. It felt like the worst hangover in galactic history. Then he remembered; stowing away aboard the shuttle, jumping in dangerously close to the planet, and being shot down.

"You can let go of me now, Fixer." Boss said slowly.

Fixer jumped as if Kashyyyk slash-spider had just crawled onto his face and began hacking away with its mandibles. He lowered his blaster aimed a Boss' head, regained his composure, and helped Boss up.

"How long have I been out?"

"One local day, sir," Fixer said quietly. "Which is approximately twenty-six standard hours."

"Damn, it's really been that long?" Fixer slowly nodded. "Where's Scorch?"

"Up here, Boss," Scorch's voice crackled in Boss' ear. "In the tree canopy."

Boss looked up to see a very faint silhouette in the trees. It was covered in mud and moss, holding a sniper rifle. The only thing that could give Scorch's position away was the holographic scope of the rifle.

"Sir, we've been hunted mercilessly by battle droids, Trandoshan mercenaries, and Aqualish Separatists," A loud boom and a flash of blue interrupted Fixer. "And Separatist probe droids have been trying to find us."

"But I find them first." Scorch chuckled.

"What about supplies?" Boss asked.

"We grabbed what we could when the shuttle went down. Between you, and about twenty kilos of ammo, grenades, and medical supplies, it's been one hell of a day. Trandos and clankers have been up our shebse the whole time. The Shebs-Faces only seem to be scouts, as they're lightly armed and are only in pairs."

"How far are we from the fortress?"

"Several clicks," Fixer said. "We crashed about seven clicks south of the fortress. So far, we've only progressed about two and a half kilometers."

"Then let's get moving. We've got a ways to go."

"Not so fast, Boss. I'm seeing a droid platoon a hundred meters north, headed right for us. About thirty battle droids, nothing big. Should I take them out now, sir?" Scorch reported.

"Hold your fire. Let's ambush them," Boss checked his blaster and vibroknife. "Scorch, you stay up there, provide cover fire. Fixer and I will head south a bit, wait, and then we'll tear them apart. Fixer, while you're at it, set up a little surprise for the droids."

"Right away, sir."

"You got it, Bossman."

Boss and Fixer sprinted to the south, where Boss ducked behind a boulder. Fixer stopped twenty meters from the boulder, quickly laid a proximity mine beneath a pile of dead leaves and ducked behind a massive, fallen tree.

"Six-two here, the droids are right beneath me. It's not just a bunch of standard B1s."

"What else?" Boss groaned.

"A trio of BX-series commando droids. Should I begin the ambush?"

"No. Not yet. Wait for the mine to go off."

Several moments of intense silence, occasionally interrupted by the calls of jungle fauna, and the iconic "Roger, roger" of the battle droids as they received orders. Silence before combat was the time when one's adrenaline level increased severely, often to the point of adrenaline poisoning. Boss' adrenaline level had become so high, he almost didn't hear the mine go off.

The cries of shock, caused only by the droids' emotion simulators, and the sound of shattered durasteel crashing against every surface in the jungle, crackling wires and dirt falling to the ground began the ambush. Scorch began to pick off any droid dumb enough to not take cover. Boss and Fixer jumped out from their cover and began firing. One of the commando droids, a commander, charged at Boss with its vibrosword. As it swung the massive blade, he dodged and quickly jabbed the knuckle plate vibroblade into the droid's cranial unit.

Within seconds, only a commando droid and battle droid remained. Both took off towards the fortress. Scorch jumped from the trees and landed on the battle droid, putting three blaster bolts into its chest before stomping its head off. Scorch aimed his rifle at the fleeing commando droid and fired twice. It's head flew off first, followed by a five centimeter hole in its chest.

As Scorch lowered his rifle, something hit him hard in the back, knocking him on the ground. He looked up to see a Trandoshan mercenary uncloaking, its repeater gun aimed at is head. It snarled behind green, scaly lips, baring razor fangs.

Scorch raised his rifle, squeezed the trigger, and watched as a headless lizard slowly dropped while green ichor gushed from its neck. As the decapitated Trandoshan's body fell, a cloaked foot kicked Scorch's rifle from his hands. A dozen more mercenaries uncloaked, trained on Scorch. He looked behind him to see Boss and Fixer in a similar situation.

"Come with us," One of the mercenaries hissed. "You've been trouble the past few hours."

"Screw you, lizard breath!" The merc growled deep in its throat, and kicked Scorch with a clawed foot in the gut.

"If you do not cooperate, we will kill you right here, right now, feed your entrails to our families, and use your corpses as throw rugs."

Scorch said nothing, slowly got up, and placed his hands behind his head. Boss and Fixer soon joined him. They were then shoved violently forward by their captors.

They walked for several minutes before walking into a clearing. A Trandoshan barked something into its comm in its language. After several moments, a Trandoshan dropship landed in the clearing. The three commandos were thrown on board the dropship, and tied up. As each Trandoshan loaded up on the dropship, they spat on Delta Squad and laughed.

When the last Trandoshan had loaded up, the dropship took off and headed for the fortress. The ride lasted only six minutes. As it began its slow descent into the fortress, shadows swallowed the world. Only a faint glow of light came from the sky. Scorch looked out a port window to see the sky slowly close into a dot as the aperture-shaped hangar door closed. The dot of light was the last thing Scorch remembered seeing before a clawed hand struck the back of his head.

I do hope you make more. That is highly THE BEST Republic Commando story I've ever read that came from a fan! I have made tons of stories (famous in my schools' news paper....) but this is by far the best! It puts my stories to shame

But we like intel. Sergeant Kal never read us bedtime stories, so intel satisfies our innate boyish need for heroic fantasy -Fi
