Interesting concept. Sounds good to me!

If you need a sprite artist, I am available.

Oh good, we can base the sprite off of that one. The face, at least, I don't know about the suit.

If it helps you guys, I read somewhere that Ron almost always wore striped shirts in the early 90s (they joked about it a lot). If you find any photos from that time they packed SMI (I used to know where they were but I forgot), you'll see what I mean.

I definitely recall him wearing a red-and-white striped long sleeved shirt.

Oh if you had only posted sooner! Vertical or horizontal stripes?

H'okay, here you go, guys.

Here is the SMI team, minus Purcell and Grossman, packing the game. You can see Schafer wearing a red-and-white striped shirt. Sorry! I mixed him up in my head with Ronzo, who is the dude in sun glasses everyone's pointing at.

The team having packed the game up. Schafer and Grossman are in front, Ronzo's to the top right of the girl in the blue-and-white striped shirt. (Her right, our left.)

Ronzo being bossy and/or looking goofy.

Sorry if I sent you on the wrong track earlier.

I'm glad you liked it! Seriously, he's been through 4 wardrobe changes. I'll work on the rest of the sprites when you find a BG artist.

Could I suggest that you have Stan as a used car salesmen and Ron has to get a Van or something for his crew to ride in to get to Lucasfilm Games.....

Also you should have someone steal his beloved Lego pirate ship

Ron will have trouble talking when Lucas is around, because he can't believe he's in the presence of 'the guy who made Star Wars'. I've thought of some hilarious dialog for this scenario, so it seems to work best. Who will replace the Swordmaster and what 'insult game' will be played is still unknown.
How about Ron steals some Star Wars prop, like the Yoda puppet, or a lightsaber? Maybe the random insult people who you find on the road look like jedi? Or how about instead of dressing as Fester Shinetop, the villan (whoever he is) looks like one of the guards from THX-1138?
If we're going to have George Lucas, we'd better take advantage of that.

Put in a part where you beat the **** out of Jar Jar Binks and you're already guaranteed 3 out of 5 stars.

George Lucas, I guess, is like Murray. He probably writes himself.

What if you replaced Elaine with the script to SOMI and lechuck can be an evil opposing gaming company that steals the script. And your job is to rescue the script

What sample background were you after? I'll give it a go. I can also help with various other things such as writing, but no programming

Also, I'd like to make a suggestion if I may. I think that you should focus your efforts on a smaller-scale game. Maybe just a few rooms long. If you try to make a game that's as big as SMI, it probably won't get finished. A good thing to do is to think of some objective your character needs to complete, and plan the story out around that. Looking up some things about story structure would help. I'd suggest something small like "Ron needs to mail his finished game to his boss but it's been accidentally sent upstairs to the obnoxious business man Jim LeWard and he has to get it back" (well, maybe not that, but you know )

I have an idea. How 'bout George Lucas gets kidnapped by LucasArts' arch-nemisis: Sierra!

I can help with making the music, just tell me what you want and I'll make it!

And byt the way, this is a great idea! I really like the idea of Ron being shy when talking to George Lucas :P

This is just a rough, 30 minute concept sketch coloured in photoshop. I figured it would be simpler to do a rough sketch first so that you can easily share ideas and whatnot. The finished version will have a lot more detail to make it look messier (and some people too I guess... although I'm no sprite artist so maybe MonkeyMania can take care of that ).

Remember that this is just a sketch... the proper version will have better colours and possibly chairs that are big enough for humans to sit on

Also, does anybody know what size image I should be making for the final background? I'm pretty clueless

backgrounds should be 320x144 for non-scrolling rooms.
