((May I compliment you on your salarian roleplaying, Master_Archon? You are absolutely BRILLIANT at conveying a sense of the species' rapid-fire speech and thought patterns. I imagined your character talking like Mordin! *LOL*))

ABOARD THE VALKYRIE

Amidst the barrage of words issuing from the salarian's mouth, Quirinius felt lost. Not so lost, however, that she couldn't figure out why he was disarming her and taking "Imperator" for safekeeping. Bowing her head, she listened to his rapid-fire admonishments and only dared to speak when he was finished.

"I--I accept your apology," she stammered at last, "and offer you mine. If there is a--" Geth onboard?! This day is getting more and more utterly unbelievable by the second! "--geth onboard this ship, I'm sure that there's a good reason for it to be there, and that your Captain has everything under control. I must say I'm feeling a bit out of control right now, and that's why I'm going to follow your directions and return to the medbay."

Once she did, Quirinius sat down on the makeshift cot upon which she'd lain not too long ago. "By the way, here are my remaining weapons: pistol, sniper rifle, and--volt'ic. A bioelectrical rod that I invented myself, meant to dampen the effects of biotic users' powers. Feel free to analyze it," she added, feeling sedatives coursing through her veins once more. "Mmmm...."

She fell once again into a deep, restful sleep, her neck becoming limp.

"Captain, you can call me Rogue," the Geth Platform extended an arm. Hesitantly, Tuhrop shook the Geth's hand. Clearly organics have been under the observation of sentient machines for a long time.

"Welcome Aboard, "Rogue"" Tuhrop's mandibles positioned to form what appeared to be a grin. He crossed his arms. "Alright, uh... integrate into the Valkyries systems. And we'll discuss the Cerberus/Genesis data later. There's another matter I need to attend to."

He left the brig, after nodding at Thiyan. He walked to the medical bay; where Kallick, Chiron and Frank stood over the comatose Asari laying on the bed.

"Damn. Just as I am about to interogate her, she falls asleep at a conveniant enough time." Tuhrop said to his amusement. He stared at the Asari, and the jury infront of her.

"Who is she and how did she get onboard." he then turned his attention to the Human with a Walrus Moustache. "And who are you?"

((I'll get around to it, don't worry.))

"I--I accept your apology," the asari stammered at last, "and offer you mine. If there is a geth onboard this ship, I'm sure that there's a good reason for it to be there, and that your Captain has everything under control. I must say I'm feeling a bit out of control right now, and that's why I'm going to follow your directions and return to the medbay."

"Mmm, apology accepted, no harm done, but must be more careful, not in top condition quite yet," Kallic replied amicably. They entered the medbay and Kallic proceeded to help Quirinius onto the cot with great delicacy.

"By the way, here are my remaining weapons: pistol, sniper rifle, and--volt'ic. A bioelectrical rod that I invented myself, meant to dampen the effects of biotic users' powers. Feel free to analyze it," she handed him her weapons in turn, he had a place on his harness for the shotgun, but the pistol and sniper would have to be locked down. After doing so he placed them on a nearby tray table, looking over at Chiron he nodded to indicate that everything was fine before reattaching the medical equipment to the asari, the sedatives and other drugs taking effect quickly.

"Thank you for understanding and cooperating Quirinius," he said with a slight bow of the head, as her consciousness faded.

"Mmmm...." Was all she mumbled out before her head fell, Kallic reacting instinctively, catching it in his hand, lowering the blue-scalped head onto the cot pillow gently.

Kallic looked over the rod she'd handed him and raised an eyebrow, "Will have to examine later, more important things to do, though, have to wonder why asari would make biotic dampening rod, all asari born biotic users no sense in dampening own abilities, unless it activates on strike....Enough pondering, back to business," Kallic said shaking his head and putting the rod away he turned to the syringe that he was going to run diagnostics on.

"....Just as I am about to interrogate her, she falls asleep at a convenient enough time." Came the sudden words from Kallic's flank as his head snapped around to see the Captain; he faced him completely and bowed slightly at the torso, saying simply in acknowledgment, "Captain."

"Who is she and how did she get onboard." The Captain asked the few crew members there, turning to the inconspicuous man with the mustache. "And who are you?"

"Don't know him Captain, but asari is named Quirinius, er, can't recall last name right now, too many thoughts. Tom found her - I believe - Chiron treated her - here mind you, thus why she's aboard the ship - I found empty syringe that she used to stop her bodily functions to appear dead, dangerous dangerous thing to do, stupid too, but don't know reason for it, so can't blame her, yet." Kallic explained, holding his chin in his hand as he studied her comatose form, "Chiron respond to Tom's page first, know more than I, can only give you the technicals Captain, but she is, as of now, disarmed, and shall remain so until you say. Have to admit Captain, she's a bit - as the humans say - 'gung-ho', very unpredictable, but can trust her for the most part."

Kallic looked back over at the Captain and smiled with good humor, "Besides, need more women aboard, too much male friction - including Selia, too - not good for morale, soft touch nice addition. Take my 'professional' advice." Kallic just blinked as he smiled at the Captain and shook his head, his body bobbing up and down as he laughed in his chest.

((Ta-dah! Post is here. Told you Phantom.))

Chiron nodded his head at Turhop to confirm everything Kallic had just said.

"We discovered she had a sedative in her bloodstream when I was paged. It was too risky to look for a clinic, so the obvious choice was to come here. She seems like a nice girl...her name strikes me as odd though. I believe I've heard that name before, or something similar. I believe it to be a krogan name," Chiron said.

Chiron chuckled at Kallic's last statement. That was another thing Chiron liked about Kallic. He could go from serious to comical within seconds.

"Planning on working your charm?" Chiron asked.

Rogue did as was ordered, but not before going back to retrieve its pulse rifle. Now that he was deemed part of the crew, it felt that it could have a weapon.

MEDBAY ABOARD THE VALKYRIE

Quirinius V'tala lay in a sedative-induced half-dream, and as the stalwart crew members of the Valkyrie continued discussing her, the asari's head began to twitch, and her eyes to squint themselves shut tightly.

"No...don't kill me...never again..." Her body took a sudden twist to the side of the cot on which she rested. "I risked too much. I lost, lost, lost..." She was most definitely having a nightmare about what had just happened in the Underworld cantina on Omega. Unfortunately for her, traumatic amnesia was not one of the side effects of the botched batch of atropixenine she had just taken. If she'd known, she would have used another sedative to fool those who were trying to annihilate her into believing she was dead. As it was, her eyelids fluttered, and she moaned.

Suddenly, her hand flopped off the edge of the cot, dangling limply.

((Quick! Somebody hold Quirinius' hand! She needs a big hero!))

((haha thanks Archon. I admire your enthusiasm ^-^))

Kalick and Chiron explained who the Asari was, and how she was brought here. How Tom and Frank found her, paged Chiron and took her to the medical bay.

"Chiron respond to Tom's page first, know more than I, can only give you the technicals Captain, but she is, as of now, disarmed, and shall remain so until you say. Have to admit Captain, she's a bit - as the humans say - 'gung-ho', very unpredictable, but can trust her for the most part."

"Unpredictable? Thats a comforting thought..." Tuhrop added. He walked towards the Asari, and noticed rapid eye movement underneath her lids.

"Besides, need more women aboard, too much male friction - including Selia, too - not good for morale, soft touch nice addition. Take my 'professional' advice."

Tuhrop chuckled at Kallicks comment. "Are you implying my ship needs a "womans touch", Kallick?" he smirked. "And techincally, she isnt a woman. But I'll talk about possible recruitment with her when she awakens. She does owe us for this, after all."

((umm... ok practicality taking place ))

Quirinius' hand fell off the bed, and looked limp. Tuhrop picked it up from the air, and placed it back onto the bed. He reached for a Heart-Rate Wrist Monitor and strapped it to her wrist. "If she took a something that halted her bodily functions, then best to keep an eye on her for now." He stood up and stared at his crew.

"I will be holding a conference in the next half hour, in light of recent events."

Chiron looked up at Turhop.

"Will that include one of our new guests?" Chiron asked referring to the geth.

It was why Rogue not only could speak multiple organic languages, but also certain slang each race used.

"We discovered she had a sedative in her bloodstream when I was paged. It was too risky to look for a clinic, so the obvious choice was to come here. She seems like a nice girl...her name strikes me as odd though. I believe I've heard that name before, or something similar. I believe it to be a krogan name," Chiron confirmed what Kallic had just said.

Chiron chuckled, most likely at Kallic's sudden change of disposition, but to him it was natural, he was salarian, emotional frequency and change was constant, one minute he could be as serious as a heart attack and the next laughing over it; it was all due to their short lives, but to him it was all moot.

"Planning on working your charm?" Chiron asked, Kallic wasn't sure he was serious or not.

"Charm? Can't say I will, salarians not romantically oriented...Mmm, inclined, whatever; very short lived, very unlikely long lived asari would fall for spastic little amphibian who's biggest concern in life is their mating/breeding terms...Rights, you get the idea. Already had my time with breeding, middle aged, still capable of breeding, but done with those concerns - DNA passed on children everywhere, know very few of them, have closer relationship to third cousin than to most well known son or daughter, shame I know." Kallic paused, staring off as his mind wandered then snapping back to reality as he stared at Chiron with a smile. "Still, have to wonder what it would be like to have committed relationship, and see DNA passed down to longer lived offspring, see what fruits such genius could bear with thousand year lifespan, though....."

Kallic stopped himself and shook his head in amusement, he wasn't going to go into the details of asari reproduction and how they technically didn't take on the DNA of their partners, it was too long, and too complicated.

"Unpredictable? Thats a comforting thought..." Tuhrop remarked, taking steps toward the comatose asari.

"Yes, I know, don't like it either, but can dig up information on her later, use old STG skills, nothing to worry about Captain. Will personally ensure I watch her in the meantime so as to make sure she doesn't get up to anything," Kallic reassured his turian Captain.

Tuhrop chuckled at Kallic's comment, "Are you implying my ship needs a "womans touch", Kallic? And technically, she isn't a woman. But I'll talk about possible recruitment with her when she awakens. She does owe us for this, after all."

Kallic chuckled to himself, shaking his head, "Not 'implied', no, blatantly-bashed-over-the-head is more like it. Have to admit though, beyond Selia - who is no relief to the stress mind you - we see few females aboard the ship, even as passengers, always good for morale, not meaning any of this in a derogatory way, but natural fact that opposite gender often creates positive stimuli for males confined to ships, less violence too: unless fighting over said female of course. So in the end it works both ways."

The salarian processed his thoughts for merely a second before continuing, "And, also correct Captain, she isn't a woman; man and woman are human terms, I male salarian, she is female asari - as they all are - but that does not make me man, nor her a woman. Very astute observation Captain, always knew I liked you for more than your demeanor."

Quirinius' hand suddenly fell from the bed, Kallic's head and eyes snapping instantly to attention on the movement, mostly by instinct, but he remained still as the Captain had already moved to retrieve the loose appendage and strap a monitor strip to it.

"If she took something that halted her bodily functions, then best to keep an eye on her for now." Tuhrop said, staring at his crew.

"Already assessed that need, Captain, Chiron agrees, we - more like he - will be keeping her on longterm observation for now, at least until I deduce the last ten percent of the syringe's contents. Small amount, but unaccounted for, potentially fatal to her health if not assessed and dealt with," Kallic mused.

"I will be holding a conference in the next half hour, in light of recent events." The Captain announced.

"Will that include one of our new guests?" Chiron asked.

"Will probably pertain to all of our guests, lot of sapient traffic around here recently, very unsettling, will have to lock up study. Most likely meeting will be more about cerberous vessel and the data we retrieved - would've offered STG experience and skill to help Captain decrypt files, after all, position on ship is for intelligence and information - but was busy during expedition and recovery of said data, Captain knows not to bother me when working, quite understandable. Will have to help later," Kallic responded to Chiron's remark, almost oblivious to the fact that the Captain was still in the room, but this was yet another natural trait of Kallic's.

The humbly dressed amphibian turned to the Captain and bowed his head in his direction, "Will be at the conference - on time this time, too - will analyze syringe, hopefully with Chiron's help, in the meantime. Will it be in the general quarters ((the ship's living room basically)) or galley? Oh, and should I bring the asari if she comes-to?"

"But in you...I see the potential to see the Force die, to turn away from its will..."
"You are beautiful to me, exile. A dead spot in the Force, an emptiness in which its will might be denied."
"But no Jedi ever made the choice you did. To sever ties so completely, so utterly, that it leaves a wound in the Force..."

Kallic assumed correctly: everybody was expected to attend. Including the pilot.

"Will be at the conference - on time this time, too - will analyze syringe, hopefully with Chiron's help, in the meantime. Will it be in the general quarters ((the ship's living room basically)) or galley? Oh, and should I bring the asari if she comes-to?"

"The general quarters will do perfectly..." Tuhrop looked abit sheepish. "I've just realised very rarely do we hold a conference between crew members. Depends upon our circumstances."

"And yes, if the Asari wakes up and is a stable condition, she is invited to come along." And with that, Tuhrop left the medical bay.

__________________________________________________ ________

Half an hour later, Tuhrop and Ulrich were standing around the quaters awaiting for everybody to show up.

"Have we figured out on what to do with the data, sir?" Tom said, after a long silence. Tuhrop glanced down at him.

"Thats why I'm holding a crew conference. I want everybody's opinion on this; this data is worth more trouble then it is."

"If it belongs to Cerberus, should we not take it up with the Citadel Authorities?"

Tuhrop gave a pfft. "We are within the Terminus Systems. The Citadel Council doesnt give a vorcha's ass about them. I doubt they'll be kind to lend us a hand."

((I'm going to have Quirinius wake up so she can take part in the debriefing.))

MEDBAY ABOARD THE VALKYRIE

When Quirinius V'tala regained consciousness, she sat up, looked around the ship's medical bay, and noticed that absolutely no one was around. "Hmm," she murmured. "They must have figured I'd be fine, or else someone would still be here. I would try to detach myself from all this medical equipment, but I think that's distinctly unwise in light of what the salarian--Kallic?--said." She shrugged her shoulders. "Oh, well. Not much to do for now, I guess."

"The general quarters will do perfectly...I've just realized very rarely do we hold a conference between crew members. Depends upon our circumstances." Tuhrop stated, Kallic nodding in acknowledgment.

"Yes, well, we're all very individualistic, have tendency to stay to ourselves unless doing job, working on remedying that though, have game night planned, but need games...Hmm," Kallic responded, venturing off into thought at the last of his comment.

"And yes, if the Asari wakes up and is a stable condition, she is invited to come along." The Captain confirmed.

"Chiron said she should stay put for another hour, but your authority supersedes his, will do as you ask," Kallic said with another nod turning to Chiron and gesturing to the syringe.
__________
Time Lapse: Thirty Minutes

Kallic was returning from locking up his study above the engineering bay, first heading to the medbay to check on the asari, and then to head down to the crew conference with or without her. As for the results of analyzing the syringe, well, they were inconclusive, they'd discovered that the substance that saved her life was in fact xenon, but that only pertained to about two percent of the mystery ten, which left a very curious eight percent left to uncover.

That would have to wait however, as getting to the conference was priority one right now. As the salarian entered the medbay he found the asari sitting up on her cot mumbling to herself.

Kallic approached and looked her over carefully, studying her readouts on a display, "Captain called for a conference, you're invited, will undo the equipment, have to warn you against sudden movements though, sedatives might still be in system, affect coordination: be careful. Have to warn against talking to self too, make others question sanity."

Kallic only smirked at his last remark as he proceeded to detach her from the medical equipment, helping her from the cot. "Will get to meet the rest of the crew, you'll love our pilot."
__________
Naut'aun floated in from the cockpit of the ship, moving over to the two already in the general quarters.

"This one says hello Captain, Tom; we're pleased to be having a gathering of friends for once, but would really appreciate more warning next time, flying this ship is hard enough with it's design without being pulled from the controls on such short notice!" The Hanar complained - as far as complaining Hanar go, that is - his tone and demeanor were still quite polite. He tried fitting in by acting out normal ship behavior, but tended to lack the same...Oomph, but he tried and that's what counted.

"Was this one too harsh? It is sorry if it offended you two," Naut'aun apologized almost immediately, not realizing he lacked any real offending nature in the first place; though compared to other Hanar he was quite a 'hick', at least to other Hanar he would be considered quite hickish, to other species one would have to be around him enough to tell the difference.

((Er, hello! You guys there? You gonna post? Did I do or make my character(s) say something wrong? I really don't want this RP to die. Anyone? Tysy, PK, Cyborg...Guys!?))

"Will get to meet the rest of the crew, you'll love our pilot."

"Ah yes, he's quite the character," Chiron said as he walked into the medbay.

Chiron had come to check on the asari, and it his surprise he found her sitting up already. That was quite impressive, she must truly be part krogan.

"Its good to see you're awake."

Rogue walked to the conference room at the designated time. It had just been deemed a crew member, and if the crew was having a meeting than it was only logical to attend. Rogue looked over at Tuhrop and saluted the turian. It believed that organics did this to show rank.

"Captain Tuhrop, Human, Hanar," it said addressing everyone it saw in the room.

((Well, since all our efforts are lost and dead, I say we move forward and do a slight time skip to our group traveling into the Traverse. That way it will give our crew time to interact - i.e. Captain and Quirinius talking about stuff/recruitment, or Kallic interacting with Rogue, or continuing studies of the syringe, and Naut'aun deciding which colony to visit since he's the pilot and navigator - But will also shorten the time it'll take us to actually get their both figuratively and literally.))

((oh very well then we'll do a slight time skip. We've already planned what we were doing anyway ))

Ulrich keyed in the galaxy map the coordinates to the Helix Nebula: their chosen destination. There an Alliance Research facility was situated on a human colony world labelled Osiris, within the Harding System.

Hopefully they wont be tailed by Cerberus Opperatives on their way, or to the most of their worries: already be waiting for them.

Ulrich walked into the cockpit where the Hanar floated amongst the ships controls. "I've keyed in the coordinates to the Helix Nebula. We ought to arive their within a few hours." he informed Nau'tuan, or "Ghost" as some of the crew members refered to him. ( )

__________________________________________________ _______________________

As everyone was dismissed, Tuhrop approached their Asari guest. "Quirinius, right?" he greeted. "May I simply call you Quiri? Its much easier..."

He crossed his arms. "Anyway, back to the point. Given under these circumstances of bringing you aboard my ship to patch you up, theres the question of what we do with you. As you are undoubtly aware, we are heading for Osiris, within the Helix Nebula. Do you have someplace to go?"

Rogue was impressed by the plan. To go to the Alliance for help was a smart move indeed. It was also impressed by the variety in species within the crew. There were humans, turians, salarians, krogan, a hanar pilot, a drell, and an asari passenger. A perfect opportunity to learn more about each species.

It was also curious as to what it had witnessed earlier. It recalled the way the asari stared at the salarian. It didn't look like a look of infatuation, more like a look of distrust. It was curious if was a particular trait of one or the other or of the races themselves. It would seem Rogue might get a chance to find out as it saw the salarian.

"Salarian, we have not met yet. I am Rogue," it said sticking its arm out.

"I've keyed in the coordinates to the Helix Nebula. We ought to arrive their within a few hours." Tom told Naut'aun, or 'Ghost' ( ) as the crew was prone to calling him.

His long tendrils glided seamlessly across the control panel of the ship - designed for armed and legged sapient beings, and not the long tentacles of a Hanar; but he had learned to integrate with the controls almost perfectly, on top of having a special hanar-made interface jury-rigged where the pilot's seat would normally be - currently he wasn't hooked up to the device and was floating freely amongst the controls.

"This One thanks you Tom, your assistance is most welcome. It was a bit of a hassle turning around mid-jump to return to the Sahrabarik System from going to the Farther System, but we encountered no hostility, which It counts as fortunate. It only hopes our journey into the Traverse is just as uneventful," Naut'aun hummed out in his wisping cryptic voice.
__________

Kallic had been waiting nearby as the Captain spoke to Quirinius, when he suddenly heard someone speak to him.

"Salarian, we have not met yet. I am Rogue," The Geth offered it's name and hand.

Kallic didn't even pause to think, he simply smiled and reached out in return, shaking the synthetic's offered appendage; he seemed to hold no reservations about the A.I.

"Call me Kallic," he responded.

"I would have killed the galaxy to preserve you...You are more precious than you know..."-now...it's verbatim!-A quote from Darth Traya (Kreia)

Quirinius nodded crisply toward Captain Tuhrop. "Of course," she replied with a slight smile, "although, for obvious reasons, I prefer if you would pronounce it KEER-ee." She hoped that none of the others on board the ship would laugh at this little explanation, but the young asari had nothing to worry about on that particular point! With a barely-audible sigh of relief, she decided to reveal where her unusual moniker came from. Relaxing, she began:

"My--father as you might call him, although we asari have no real such term, was a krogan. His name was also Quirinius, and he was a lieutenant warlord with a...fondness for exotic dancers." The color of her smooth cheeks deepened to a slightly darker shade of blue. "My mother did not want me to follow the same path she did, especially in my Maiden stage. She wanted to instill strength and power in me, and so she named me after her partner. Not that I mind, of course, except most people I encounter expect to meet a male once they hear my name. Once they see my face, though..."

She laughed. "It's quite amusing to observe the confusion and shock in their eyes! Uh--to return to the matter at hand, Captain Tuhrop," she continued with a slight clearing of her throat, "I have no place to go except back to Omega. That would be...inadvisable. Once you have a large group of people try to kill you back on that world, it's almost impossible to erase the bounty on your head. I made an utter fool of the salarian organizer of the chess tournament, and if I return to Omega, he's sure to make me pay for it."

Quirinus folded her hands in her lap. "I don't want to spend the rest of my life running and hiding--or, at least the remainder of my Maiden years."

"Call me Kallic," The Salarian responded.

Rogue stored the name into its memory banks. It was odd, Kallic seemed to have no issue with the geth. The captain hadn't either, but it appeared Kallic was perfectly fine with Rogue being on board. Its head shifted a little, giving Rogue a look of curiosity.

"It is a pleasure to meet you Salarian:Kallic. I wished to know why that asari was staring at you back at the meeting. Also I noticed you seemed to have no issue with me...I am also curious about this," Rogue said.

Unlike an organic, Rogue was direct about what it wanted in a conversation. It wouldn't waste time with small talk, it went right to the issue at hand.

Quirinius told the story of her Krogan father and her growing up. Then went back to the topic of her current situation. Explaining that she couldnt go back to Omega, given her circumstances and life/death situation... not that that was uncommon for every citizen living on Omega.

"I don't want to spend the rest of my life running and hiding--or, at least the remainder of my Maiden years."

"Then perhaps a compromise is in order." Turhop proposed. "I may have an offer: as you may realise, its not as simple as hiding out on this ship for the remainder of your years... mind you, Asari live for such a bloody long time." he jested. "I do have a crew position available to you. You work for me, and I'll provide you food and a place to sleep. Plus the standard crew wagers. Far better, and honest life than being a Omega."

"If you are interested, I'll need to know what type of skills you have."

"Any time, Ghost." Tom acknowledged. "And with luck, we'll be off of Cerberus' hit list before they even know it."

He walked towards the control panel to the side of the wall, and flicking a few switches. Doing the whole "techgeek-to-ship inteface routine" Tom always labbeled it as. "If not, well... We're all hoping you do the impossible for us Ghost. No preasure." he smirked.

"It is a pleasure to meet you Salarian:Kallic. I wished to know why that asari was staring at you back at the meeting. Also I noticed you seemed to have no issue with me...I am also curious about this," the geth asked quite directly, something Kallic liked.

"No mincing words...Mmm, always liked that. Anyway, about your questions: Asari gave Kallic quick look, hard to decipher for one with less knowledge in kinesics, but I saw just enough to know what it was; common look, well known to me as I've gotten it a lot in my short life, same look of 'salarians-know-more-than-they-let-on', very annoying - simply put: Prejudice; bigotry, either definition works," Kallic told Rogue, nodding with chin in hand.

"Often times it depends on the individual if the fact of them knowing more than they let on is true or not. With me it depends on the situation, I'm apart of a ship's crew, I hardly know anything more than my comrades, is often better that way too, can't be holding out on people whom you trust, and presumably trust you in return. But have old contacts and clearances, could very easily garner information if Captain requested, which has happened; then it is usually best to keep information secret until Captain deems it necessary to let the others in on, but that is solely a matter of judgment on safety, not secrecy like most assume I am, or keep," Kallic paused tilting his head to look at the geth.

"Can be easy to see why I have no issue with you now, as I myself do not like the prejudices placed on me and my people, no matter the truths or untruths behind them. Besides, always wanted to get to know a geth construct, minored in Xeno-cultural and religious studies, never had opportunity to know about your kind, would be a privilege and a pleasure to do so now....Mmm, don't have time to have issue with everything that happens on ship anyway; short-lived enough, don't need to waste time making it shorter," Kallic said wafting his hand around at this last comment on his short life. "Still, good to meet you , Rogue. Hope I put some of your curiosity to rest."

"Any time, Ghost. And with luck, we'll be off of Cerberus' hit list before they even know it." Tom said.

Naut'aun's luminous body seemed to flutter at this, responding with a hint of smartness, "That makes little sense, Tom, we can't get off of their hit list before they know it, without them knowing it..." The hanar simple stopped, it's body dimming in color.

"If not, well... We're all hoping you do the impossible for us Ghost. No pressure." Tom told Naut'aun, the hanar responding with a violent shiver, but in it's common polite tone, "This one doesn't think we'll stand a chance, considering, but self preservation says that It will try."

"But in you...I see the potential to see the Force die, to turn away from its will..."
"You are beautiful to me, exile. A dead spot in the Force, an emptiness in which its will might be denied."

"Skills?" Quirinius smirked. "Never ask an asari that, if you get my meaning. However, I do understand what you're trying to say, and I do have skills beyond the...usual ones ascribed to my species. Most prominent among these is sensing danger primarily through the element-zero nodules in my skull. They tingle when my subsconscious mind senses hostiles nearby, and I react accordingly." Apologetically, she glanced at Rogue. "I sensed you, for instance," she revealed, "and if Kallic hadn't stopped me, I would have sought you out and sprung to attack! That said, I have another...special ability."

With a wink, she stood up from where she had been seated and took a shiny metal brooch off of her unisuit. Throwing it straight up into the air, she fell into a full trance state. Thus, it took ten full seconds for the golden wing to fall right back into the smooth palm of her hand. "I slow down time. Very well, in fact. However, I can only activate this ability when I'm not overloaded with too much adrenaline. That's why I wasn't able to defend myself this way and gun down all the...vorcha-loving scum who tried to kill me on Omega."

Hearing Kallic's sudden word "prejudice," she stopped, startled. "I--I'm very sorry."

Rogue listened intently as Kallic spoke. It took note of many things as Kallic spoke. He spoke quite quick, even for Salarian standards. It also learned organics can be prejudice against one another. It didn't understand why organics would act like that though. Perhaps that was a question for another time.

It turned its head and watched Quirinius show off her ability. Again it raised the plate on the left side of its head to show its curiosity. It was indeed impressed with Quirinius's ability to slow down time. It now took this into calculation based on her previous statement. It ran the simulation a few more times until finally it spoke.

"An unwise decision Asari:Quirinius. Your attack would only have forced me to take action. I would have had to incapacitate you, or kill you if you continued to attack. Your time control requires much concentration, both a strength and a weakness. I would have also detected you when you drew closer thereby losing your element of surprise. I would have turned and shot you in the stomach to stop your movements, then to your throat if you continued to attack," Rogue said, meaning no threat what so ever even though it had just said it would have killed her if she attacked.

Rogue turned its attention back to Kallic.

"You mentioned your interest in a geth platform. Do you have a question for me Salarian:Kallic?"

"That makes little sense, Tom, we can't get off of their hit list before they know it, without them knowing it..."

"The one they call "Illusive Man" would... but you're right: my apoligies." Tom scratched his head sheepishly.

"This one doesn't think we'll stand a chance, considering, but self preservation says that It will try."

Tom found the hanar's unique usage of pronouns amusing. The way Ghost always refered to himself atleast. "I've always wondered, if not curious, Ghost; as to why the hanar always call themselves "it". I've heard something about how they have Soul Names...?"

Tuhrop watched Quirinius' performance. She was quick, and her concentration was very high. She might make a useful Biotic as well.

"Well, I'm certainly impressed. I was actually asking if you had any notable technical skills, but this could work well for all of us. We mainly specialise in transportation and deliveries: especially collected bounties during those particular assignments. We are Freelancers... Mercenaries... Oddjob People. You'd make a fine addition to security. Especially with Cerberus on our tail."

"An unwise decision Asari:Quirinius. Rogue noted Quirinius' claim. "Your attack would only have forced me to take action. I would have had to incapacitate you, or kill you if you continued to attack. Your time control requires much concentration, both a strength and a weakness. I would have also detected you when you drew closer thereby losing your element of surprise. I would have turned and shot you in the stomach to stop your movements, then to your throat if you continued to attack,"

"Ehough, the both of you..." Tuhrop interupted. "I will not have my crew fighting over who is the better of the rest. We are equals." he smirked at both the Geth Platform and the Asari.

((BE WARNED: This post is quite lengthy.))

"I--I'm very sorry." Quirinius stuttered out in reaction to his seemingly harsh, though in reality were simply blunt, words.

Being brought out of his thoughts caused Kallic to realize that the asari had spoken to him, Kallic replied finally, "No need for apologies Quirinius, like I said, my particular life is too short as it is to be worrying about every issue that occurs; was behind me the moment it happened. Besides, can't expect someone of your maturity to be beyond their initial assumptions of others...Mmm, understandable."

Kallic had learned not to judge on merits of 'years-in-existence', as they were often superficial, he began to lecture aloud, "Am around 20, middle-aged for my kind, can make good guess as to your age based on conversations heard and genetic info gathered from study of you and the syringe I found: Guess you, Quirinius, are somewhere around 200 rounded to a whole number. Nearly ten times my age, ten times the experience, the knowledge, the wisdom, right? Yes, but probably not, still young in asari terms, Maiden even, not even close to my 'physical' age, will not make the prejudicial assumptions that decades of your life were wasted dancing and fighting as a merc, but can assume that despite your age over mine you haven't come close to the experiences I've had." Kallic stopped, looking from Rogue, to the Captain, and finally having his gaze rest on Quirinius.

"The Captain, or even Rogue might agree: No two species are identical; all must be judged on their own merits. Treating every species like one's own is racist, even benign anthropomorphism," Kallic stated rather bluntly. ((Hooray for blatant in-game quote rips!))

The salarian listened as Rogue commented on the outcome of a conflict between him and Quirinius, the Captain cutting it short quickly: "Enough, the both of you....I will not have my crew fighting over who is the better of the rest. We are equals."

Kallic noticed the Captain's smirk and shook his head, responding, "Must also apologize Captain, got carried away as I always do. Did not mean to reprimand you, Quirinius, only enlighten you a little." Kallic smirked his own little smirk, "Besides, crew knows I'm the smartest anyways!"

Kallic shook his head with a smile and reached out his hand to shake both Rogue's and Quirinius', his words hitting home the reason why the Captain had been smirking at his own comment, "Welcome to the crew, pleasure to have you two."

"You mentioned your interest in a geth platform. Do you have a question for me Salarian:Kallic?" Rogue asked almost immediately after it's remarks to Quirinius.

"Mmmm....Yes, but no. Maybe later, have other matters to concentrate on, hope you understand Rogue," Kallic responded amicably.
__________
"The one they call "Illusive Man" would... but you're right: my apologies," Tom responded.

"No Tom, It should apologize, if It had not said anything towards the comment in the first place you would not have to feel so put down," Naut'aun apologized in turn.

"I've always wondered, if not curious, Ghost; as to why the hanar always call themselves "it". I've heard something about how they have Soul Names...?" Tom questioned.

Naut'aun didn't respond immediately, shimmering in the twilight of the cockpit, thinking to himself. "This One will explain as best it can Tom, but It has spent many years amongst other species, and has forgone much of It's etiquette and is considered a 'hick' among other hanar, even if It was once a scholar and philosopher amongst It's people," he said, almost seeming to apologize for some wrong that he hadn't even committed yet.

Continuing, he remarked, "Hanar Soul Names are for only the closest of friends, and of course, relations. Soul Names are poetic, and are difficult to interpret into a single form or word amongst other species, as it often includes visual speech as well as verbal and even bodily. Genetic modifications, or special visors and hardware are required; sometimes software patches into one's auto-translation systems are required for the correct meaning to be understood with visors."

Naut'aun turned to face Tom, continuing, "Soul Names often times don't translate directly, but more into meanings for other species; such as one of our kind being strong-willed would be called: "Lifts the Great Oceans". We call ourselves 'It' to maintain civility, it seems egotistical, if not selfish to speak of oneself in the first person while conversing with those we know only out of acquaintance, or on a Face Name basis. The explanations for calling oneself 'It' go much deeper, Tom, but that is the basis of it."

Naut'aun paused, his body dimming as he seemed not to want to continue, but did so anyways, "This One knows what Tom is wondering, why doesn't the crew know It's Soul Name, why doesn't Tom get to know, while the Captain does. This one does not want you to have to go through the procedure of having your eyes modified, nor spend the finances to acquire the proper equipment and software to translate It's name.....And, It does not feel that it is right to tell It's Soul Name to the crew right now. It trusts the crew, It's been with the crew for a very long time, but It did not join this crew easily, and the Captain 'earned' This One's Soul Name, the crew simply know of It, as an entity, that is......."

Naut'aun seemed torn, distraught, as if he wanted the others to know, but wouldn't, or couldn't tell them. He turned back to the ship controls, speaking softly, "Tom is a good friend, so please be happy with the knowledge that Tom may call It by a nickname, as most other hanar would take great offense at being called an ethereal being of undeath, or even at having a 'nickname' at all, this is a good example of It's hick nature. Tom will earn the knowledge of It's Soul Name one day, as will It's other friends: John, Kallic, Chiron, Selia......" Naut'aun paused very briefly, his body shivering slightly, "Maybe not Selia."

"If Tom is curious as to how Captain Tuhrop came to know the name then It will say this, It used to own one of those visors It spoke of. Once the Captain....Acquired It's services and earned the right to know, It gave Captain Tuhrop the visors to see, hear, and know It's Soul Name.........Then It threw them out the airlock." The hanar concluded with a thrust of one of it's tentacles to indicate a throwing motion.

"This One hopes Tom is happy with this explanation, if not, then It is truly sorry, and apologizes most deeply. It would bow in deference, but It would rather not plow the ship into a mass effect field."

((Yeah, it's long, I know.))

((Be warned: this post is also long.))

Quirinius V'tala shook Kallic's hand amicably. She was absolutely astounded at how much he knew--not merely in a technical or factual sense, but also in the ways of the world. She was quite heartened that he had not taken her skeptical and curious glance as an insult. I know I would have, if someone looked that way at me, she thought to herself. Many an opponent back on Omega gave me the same exact appraisal. I should know better than to treat others in kind, but as I've heard humans say, 'old habits die hard'.

Old habits die...hard... The asari fell into reverie once more, and this time her ruminations were not pleasant ones. Before her sordid life on Omega had begun, she had been a promising candidate as mate to a stunningly beautiful woman. Diana had been her name: Diana Cassindra Velian. Even though Quirinius was far older than she, Diana seemed to be the more mature of the two. Her beauty was only 'the icing on the cake', as humans also said from time to time. She was resolute, determined, and strong, unlike her cerulean paramour. Where Quirinius doubted, Diana remained stalwart. Where Quiri faltered, Diana stood firm. Most of all, where Quiri failed, Diana succeeded.

I thought that a woman like her needed no one except herself, the asari mused. Her heart seemed as closed and locked as the Omega 4 relay. However, I discovered that what she needed most was love. Unconditonal acceptance. It sounds like a cliche, I know, but in Diana's case it was true. Or, so I naively convinced myself... Shivers crawled down Quirinius' spine.

She worked for Cerberus. Diana said she worked for a privately-funded scientific cabal, but wouldn't tell me its name. Not until the very end.

"The very end" came when Diana revealed the final condition for Quiri to become her partner: in exchange for "embracing eternity", the asari would have to consent to biological experimentation by one certain Cerberus employee. The human race, Diana said, absolutely had to find out the final secret to controlling the flow of space-time, which Quirinius knew already.

"No!" she cried. "I don't! There are others far more biotically advanced--!"

"Not in your own special way," her partner had smirked. Almost sneered. "You can influence the fabric of this universe in a way that no other biotic can. Fifteen seconds last an hour in your eyes. I know. You've given me a taste of that, a preview of your melder's protective power. I want it. If you want me, then you'll have to give it to me. Let me operate. You won't feel a thing..."

Hardly. At that moment, Quiri had felt her heart shear itself in half.

She had fled from Diana, from the Cerberus research facility to which she'd been taken under pretense of seeing her for a "secret rendezvous." She'd killed many a guard and felt no guilt over slaying them. In the span of a few minutes, she'd turned from Maiden to monster.

I enjoyed it. Each second that blood spilled, I was closer to freedom...

Diana is still alive. I know it. She's out there, and if she's still the same as when I knew her, she'll stop at absolutely nothing to get what she wants. Either for herself or Cerberus. Exchange? Ha! She's utterly playing to win--

Out loud, all she rasped was "Cerberus. Don't let them anywhere near you."

"Mmmm....Yes, but no. Maybe later, have other matters to concentrate on, hope you understand Rogue,"

"Understandable Salarian:Kallic. I look forward to another conversation with you," Rogue replied.

Rogue shook Kallic's hand again after Quirinius did. It was certainly pleasant to find a being such as him. Rogue knew little of Salarians, and Kallic could supply him with information to give him a better understanding of the race. Rogue turned its head over to Tuhrop.

"Apologies Captain Tuhrop, I meant for no conflict," Rogue said saluting his superior officer.

With that Rogue turned and walked out of the room. An armored man passed the geth, and nearly did a double take. The geth hadn't attacked him, so it must have been with Tuhrop. The human shrugged and kept walking, looking for the old Turian.

Zack Hudson continued down the hallway. He had just finished cleaning his precious shotgun, and was trying to recall what Tuhrop had said at the meeting. To be honest he had kind of zoned out, and he had a bad hangover. It didn't hurt as much now, so he could actually communicate with others. He walked into the room and saw Tuhrop, Kallic, and an asari.

"So this is what we did on Omega? Tuhrop you sly dog, I didn't think you'd actually listen to one of my ideas," Zack said, his helmet distorting his voice a little.

He looked over at the asari and smirked to himself. He leaned back on a wall and crosses his arms, still staring at the asari. Now he was hoping she could pop out of something, and he really hoped her outfit was a bit more...revealing. The way Zack saw it though, he'd take what he could get.

"So tell me cutie, you got a name?" Zack asked.

Tom listened to Naut'uan, explaining how sapient species may be unable to understand or comprehend a hanar soul name without the use of certain technologies or implants. It made sense, if a soul name could only be limited through body movements, visual communication and bioluminescence.

"Tom is a good friend, so please be happy with the knowledge that Tom may call It by a nickname, as most other hanar would take great offense at being called an ethereal being of undeath, or even at having a 'nickname' at all, this is a good example of It's hick nature. Tom will earn the knowledge of It's Soul Name one day, as will It's other friends: John, Kallic, Chiron, Selia...... Maybe not Selia."

"Heh, understandable..." Tom agreed.

"This One hopes Tom is happy with this explanation, if not, then It is truly sorry, and apologizes most deeply. It would bow in deference, but It would rather not plow the ship into a mass effect field."

"That probably wont be necasary." Tom added. "Sorry on my behalf as well: I didnt mean to pry. I was mainly curious, Ghost. I dont know that much about your species. If it is that important to you, of course your entitled to your own personal matters and beliefs."

Tom looked down the bridge from the cockpit. "I've got to get back to work. Good talking to you, Ghost."

He walked down the bridge and passed the CIC. Tom took the stairway down where the General Crew Quarters were located. There the Asari guest was speaking with the captain, as well as surrounded by other crewmen.

"Wow... she sure did won the weekly popularity contest." Tom muttered under his breath. "It must be quite claustrophobic..." he took the elevator down to the engineering deck.

Tuhrop wondered if Tom was thinking the same thing just as Zack, one of the Freelance Mercenaries, walked into the scene. He began admiring Quirinius.

"So this is what we did on Omega? Tuhrop you sly dog, I didn't think you'd actually listen to one of my ideas,"

"I "did" nothing. I got hunted throughout Omega, and the next thing I knew Tom, Chiron and Kallick brought her aboard."

The next thing he knew Zack began flirting with the Asari. Tuhrop looked a little sheepish. "I apoligise; Zack may lack proper courtesy, but he's one heck of a Vanguard. Which by the way, I'm sorry we couldnt stay on Omega long enough for you to find work."

"I "did" nothing. I got hunted throughout Omega, and the next thing I knew Tom, Chiron and Kallick brought her aboard."

Zack was recalling something from the meeting now. Tuhrop had mentioned someone took shots at him earlier. Zack hated snipers, always ten miles away from the real action. He preferred his trusty shotgun, combined with his biotics over a sniper any day.

"I apoligise; Zack may lack proper courtesy, but he's one heck of a Vanguard. Which by the way, I'm sorry we couldnt stay on Omega long enough for you to find work."

"Don't worry about it Tuhrop...and I did ask for her name didn't I?," he asked. "Let me show her around if she hasn't gotten a tour already and we'll be even," he added in.

((NOOOOO!!!!!! Cyborg, you've destroyed the very fabric of reality by posting out of order!!! I was supposed to post next, then Tysy, then you, then PK: Rinse, lather, repeat...Or however it goes! Now you've ruined our little orderly world and doomed us all! I blame you if the world ends some time between now and the next 50 years! Yes, you! - JK

Anyway, I hate to be a stick-in-the-mud, but Tysy, you might wanna change the age at which your character met this Diana; on top of her being over a hundred years old - since you met her at around a hundred to a hundred and ten within your own character's lifetime - she wouldn't, and couldn't be human, or have worked for Cerberus, as humans have only been in the Mass Effect galactic community for no more than thirty years or so and Cerberus probably not even that long. I'm a stickler for details, sorry, but it would be rather - actually, very - inaccurate if we let it slide. Just thought I'd point that little mistake out! .....Please don't hate me..... ))

"That probably wont be necessary. Sorry on my behalf as well: I didn't mean to pry. I was mainly curious, Ghost. I don't know that much about your species. If it is that important to you, of course your entitled to your own personal matters and beliefs."

Naut'aun was quiet, his body dim as he interacted with some controls. "Tom does not need to apologize, Tom asked a genuine question of genuine interest. As a former scholar This One welcomes your desire for understanding. But It still apologizes for not being able to answer Tom more clearly. It is sorry."

"I've got to get back to work. Good talking to you, Ghost." Tom told the hanar, who plumed with a flash of bio-luminous light and replied happily, "And with you, Tom! It was very pleasant to have someone to converse with in the cockpit. Please feel free to ask This One more in the future, if Tom likes?"

Naut'aun waved one of it's tentacles as Tom left the cabin to go to engineering. Naut'aun slipping some of it's inner tentacles into slots in the jury-rigged cylindrical pedestal that replaced the pilot's seat, his body resting comfortably on the device like it was a seat, when in reality it wasn't; his outer tentacles still working away at the holographic consoles and controls around him.
__________
"Cerberus. Don't let them anywhere near you." Quirinius croaked, Kallic only raising what counted as his eyebrow at this.

"Don't plan to; after all, are attempting to avoid them, or did you miss that?" he responded plainly.

"Understandable Salarian:Kallic. I look forward to another conversation with you," Rogue responded in kind to Kallic.

Kallic smiled and nodded, his thoughts drifting slowly but surely off towards other matters. Rogue apologized for causing the slight, and in actuality, non-realistic disturbance, leaving the room after a quick salute to the Captain; Kallic waved at the geth as it left. He saw Tom coming down from the CIC and nodded to him as he passed on his way to engineering, turning he noticed the other human crew mate approaching, Zack Hudson A.K.A. Null.

"So this is what we did on Omega? Tuhrop you sly dog, I didn't think you'd actually listen to one of my ideas," the man said, Kallic only rolling his eyes in response, turning away from the exchange, but still hearing what was being said.

"I "did" nothing. I got hunted throughout Omega, and the next thing I knew Tom, Chiron and Kallic brought her aboard." Captain Tuhrop explained to Zack. Kallic turned back around, interjecting quickly:

"Did not bring her aboard, came later, said that already."

"So tell me cutie, you got a name?" Zack blatantly flirted.

"I apologize; Zack may lack proper courtesy, but he's one heck of a Vanguard. Which by the way, I'm sorry we couldn't stay on Omega long enough for you to find work." The Captain apologized.

"Yes, very sorry indeed," Kallic said, a hint sardonically.

"Don't worry about it Tuhrop...and I did ask for her name didn't I? Let me show her around if she hasn't gotten a tour already and we'll be even," Zack explained, Kallic shaking his head and rolling his eyes.

"Making flirtatious advances not considered courteous, even if you did ask for name in the process," he remarked, and with chin in hand he stepped over towards Quirinius, his side to her face he stopped, cutting her view of Zack off briefly; locking her eyes with at least one of his own large ones, he muttered to her, "Wouldn't recommend it."

'What' he didn't recommend was really the question; whether it was the tour, giving in to his flirtations, or something else was anyone's guess.

He disengaged her stare and stepped out of her line of sight of the heavily armored man that was before her. Swiveling his head in Zack's direction he remarked amiably, "Would recommend removing helmet and armor if you wish for flirtations to work. After all, humans rely more on hormones and scent for attracting others; physical appeal mostly psychological. But intimidating armor still not helpful!"

Kallic was tempted to say something about his face being just as scary as his armor, but he decided humility was the greater virtue of valor here ((or however that saying goes)) and kept his remarks professional. The salarian started to walk off nodding to the Captain as he passed:

"Will head to medbay to continue analyzing syringe, since keeping personal eye on asari no longer really necessary." Though in reality the Captain knew - and Kallic knew the Captain knew - Kallic was still going to be keeping a rather close eye on her; after all, he kept rather close tabs on everyone on the ship, especially newcomers and those he trusted little. "Tell me if you need me for anything else, Captain."

Kallic nodded once more to the Captain and proceeded to walk away surprisingly slow for a salarian. Pausing he looked over his shoulder at Quirinius, remarking, "Come by later to pick up weapons....Mmm, or come with me now, either way works."

With that the salarian was off towards the medbay, chin in hand, walking slow, mind on ten different things at once....Literally.

"I would have killed the galaxy to preserve you...You are more precious than you know..."-now...it's verbatim!-A quote from Darth Traya (Kreia)

((I fixed my last post, removing all the time references. Less confusing.))

If there was anything Quirinius V'tala considered her main "pet peeve", it was being bombarded with too much information (and flirtation?) all at once. Only moments earlier, she had been caught in a web of dark reminiscences. Then, in the blink of an eye, both Kallic the salarian and a smooth-talking human newcomer, one Vanguard Zack, had interrupted her reverie. How to respond? Fortunately, Kallic offered a solution: follow him to the medbay and get away from the crowd!

As she and Kallic entered the Valkyrie's infirmary, the asari cleared her throat. "I owe you two things," she began, "an apology, and my thanks. I'm sorry I mentioned Cerberus, for one; I was lost in a raging sea of memories for a minute. Old habits die hard," she said with a worm of chagrin wriggling around in the pit of her stomach. "I knew perfectly well--or, at least my conscious mind did--that we're trying to keep out of that organization's way. I have a past with Cerberus, or at least one of its employees. Don't worry. This won't affect our mission, even though I'm still trying to 'get over it'."

She noticed Kallic staring at her rather intensely. Clearing her throat again, she moved on to the other part of what she needed to tell the salarian. "I also would like to thank you for saving me from...Zack's?...advances. He just came out of nowhere! I wasn't quite sure what to say, even when I realized I was safely back here on the ship and not trapped in a research lab several years ago..." She slapped a hand over her mouth. "Sorry. That's past now. You must think I'm a complete and utter fool, for all the mistakes and half-steps I've made so far. The thing is, not all asari are so intelligent or wise as you might think. Witness me! I've got more of my father in me than I'd like to admit..." She shook her head. "He always was too rash for Mother's taste."

Already being in the Medbay, Chiron heard Quirinius talking to someone. He looked up to see it was his good friend Kallic. The krogan chuckled at the mentioning of the freelancer. It seemed like it was an initiation on this ship for a female crew member to be hit on by Zack. He walked over to the two at Quirinius mentioning her uniqueness.

"I can understand where you're coming from. I am a krogan who prefers to use his words over his fists," he chuckled. "Its not a lack of intelligence by the way, just a lack of experience I'm guessing," he added in.

Zack chuckled as Quirinius quickly left the room. She was a quiet one no doubt, looked like she was hiding something. He did hear her mention Cerberus...he hated them

"Well she's okay in my book Tuhrop, she's not a fan of Cerberus," Zack said.

"Well she's okay in my book Tuhrop, she's not a fan of Cerberus,"

"I cannot imagine any other sentient who would be." Tuhrop added simply. "Extremists, the lot of them are."

He glanced at Zack and smirked. "I've got work to do, Hudson. I'll talk to you later." the Turian was about to walk off. "Oh, and Hudson: in the future, try not doze off during our crew meetings. You're involved in this just as much as everybody else."

Tuhrop walked off the scene.

The Valkyrie appeared right before the mass relay, after making the jump. Soaring through the heavens of the Harding System of the Helix Nebula. Within the next hour, a small ball growing larger in the distance appeared through the cockpit window.

Osiris appeared on their scanners. Most of the planet was covered by oceans of liquid water. European-sized areas were spotted on the planet's surface, and the atmosphere was nitrogen-oxygen based. Perfect choice for colonisation.

Vessels and Cruisers surrounded the planet below. Tuhrop opened a communications channel.

"Osiris Control, this is GS Valkyrie: requesting permission to land?"

"GS Valkyrie, this is Osiris Control. As you are within Systems Alliance and Citadel Space, our security protocol is initiated."

Tuhrop stated their business, claimed quarantine and informed them that they are carrying weapons. He also provided identification and registration of the ship.

"GS Valkyrie, this is Osiris Control. Permission to land has been granted. Please be advised that once entering a Systems Alliance controlled building, you are not authorised to carry weapons. Understood?"

"Crystal Clear..." Tuhrop acknowledged. "Valkyrie out!"

The Valkeryie descended into the atmosphere below, and made her way towards the human colony. It was a settlement right where the beach is; probably larger than any typical human colony.
Its most notable landmark was the tower standing within the ocean, surrounded by sea water. Most likely the research facility they were meant to head towards.

Tuhrop pulled switched on the intercom. "This is the captain, we have arrived at the colony and are about to dock. Please get yourselves ready, and keep in mind alliance security protocol forbids bringing weapons into the research facility."

MEDBAY ABOARD THE VALKYRIE

Quiri heard Captain Tuhrop's announcement. "Hmm," she said, closing her eyes for a minute and placing a finger to her lips. "We may be forbidden to carry visible, ammunition-bearing weapons aboard the station, such as guns and grenade launchers. However, biotics can be some of the most dangerous instruments of war that have ever been discovered." She was thinking about those at Cerberus--the security guards she'd slain. Vanguards, most of them.
"Tech powers also have their non-engineering uses, if you get my drift."

She turned to Kallic and Chiron. "Patently obvious, I know, but I have a strange tingling in the top of my scalp all of a sudden. I'm not scared, but something feels wrong." She glanced around. "If my suspicions don't happen to be proven, I'll be glad, but if they are...I just might have to use those weapons that are lodged in my brain known as 'eezo' nodules..."

EDIT: ((Forgive the inconsistency of this post, I will fix it when I have time! Will edit in the stuff from PK's post and Tysy's etc. Also, ignoring my inane/insane rants at the bottom would be....I want to say wise, but I've mentioned that enough in this post......Smart, I guess. Uh, thanks. *sleeps*))

EDIT 2: ((Okay, didn't change anything with the initial post, but added some stuff to the bottom, etc. Respond accordingly, or not. Concerns for replies to this junk post are minimal at best.))

Guess PK's waiting on me to post or move on? Or something!? I'unno! <--IGNORE THIS!!))

To Kallic's slight surprise Quirinius actually followed him to the medbay immediately instead of taking the ship tour with Zack. Once in there, he turned to notice her somewhat off look - the asari clearing her throat to speak, "I owe you two things, an apology, and my thanks. I'm sorry I mentioned Cerberus, for one; I was lost in a raging sea of memories for a minute. Old habits die hard," she said, a look like she had swallowed a cup of nails and it'd finally gotten to her. "I knew perfectly well--or, at least my conscious mind did--that we're trying to keep out of that organization's way. I have a past with Cerberus, or at least one of its employees. Don't worry. This won't affect our mission, even though I'm still trying to 'get over it'."

Staring intently, Kallic didn't interrupt, seeing on her face that she still wished to speak. "I also would like to thank you for saving me from...Zack's?...advances. He just came out of nowhere! I wasn't quite sure what to say, even when I realized I was safely back here on the ship and not trapped in a research lab several years ago...Sorry. That's past now. I've got more of my father in me than I'd like to admit...He always was too rash for Mother's taste."

Kallic caught something out of the corner of his eye as Quirinius finished, noticing a familiar figure approach.

"I can understand where you're coming from. I am a krogan who prefers to use his words over his fists. It's not a lack of intelligence by the way, just a lack of experience I'm guessing," his krogan friend remarked regarding her own comments, he guessed.

Kallic finally spoke, "Apology accepted, though completely unnecessary, wasn't chastising you for remarking on Cerberus, just making a simple comment. Apologize if somehow I accosted you, or seemed rude in any way, but not for what I said, nothing wrong in it."

"As for past with the organization, that's between you, yourself, and the Captain, or at least it will be if it affects crew in any way. Just a warning," Kallic said, moving over to some equipment in the medbay. Kallic continued, speaking over his shoulder as he began setting up machines to continue analyzing the syringe, ((Inside Joke: )) "Have to agree with Chiron on the matter of thanks and regrets; like I said, lack predefined judgments of others based on age, but on actions, words, maturity....Mmm, the like; know you're still a Maiden, know you're young in mind, body, and emotionally."

Kallic paused briefly to turn around and face her, setting his intense eyes back on her, "Told you I was unlike other salarians, just as Chiron is unlike other krogan in his mannerisms. Lack same coldheartedness, etcetera; but just because you lack wisdom and intellect doesn't mean you won't get them. Experience: Twenty," he said pointing to himself, then pointing to her. "Two Hundred."

"Middle Aged..." Enacting the same motion as before. "...Quarter aged: Young Adult. Understand? Age, species, class; don't define wisdom or experience - remember that," he finished.

Kallic shook his head and smiled, proceeding to activate his Omni-Tool and detach Quirinius' weapons from his harness, and unlock the others that weren't, he remarked, "Sound like fragmented holo-vid; here, take weapons. Apart of crew now, free to carry armed implements, just be sure not to take them out on board, same rule applies as I said before...Mm, don't use weapons on ship, especially while in space: dangerous!"

Kallic pulled out her biotic dampening rod, almost thrusting it into her hands and leaning forward - speaking in a more hushed, but kinder/soothing tone, "Remember that? If so, good; first step in garnering experience - earning wisdom - learn from mistakes. Second: listen to those who do have the experience, and have earned the wisdom."

Kallic pulled back and gave her a smile, a nod, and a friendly wink. Thus proceeding to go back to his duty at the analysis equipment, speaking normal again over his shoulder, "Ask for other steps later, for now, use what I've told you; if so, will already be following them - simple. Chiron, need help here, syringe seems to have disappeared...Mmm, unsettling...."

But before Kallic knew it the intercom came on, the Captain's voice ringing through the ship, "This is the captain, we have arrived at the colony and are about to dock. Please get yourselves ready, and keep in mind alliance security protocol forbids bringing weapons into the research facility."

Kallic turned back around to face the others, Quirinius mentioning her nervousness and sense of something wrong, as well as mentioning the use of biotics and tech abilities, something Kallic was at least halfway certain the Alliance would have counter measures against; Kallic just shook his head.

"Unlikely acts of aggression will be necessary, Alliance would aid us if we were assaulted by any Cerberus agents - don't want intergalactic incident after all, most of us different species, would not be good PR for them. Also, if incited Alliance assault, most likely they have predicted the use of our abilities; especially with asari aboard - well known fact they're born biotics. Stand less of a chance than with Cerberus assault. If both come at us, then....Mmm, pray to your deities, wouldn't last very long under the circumstance," he added in, putting his hands behind his back. "Personally don't look for a Thresher Maw to jump up around every corner, bad habit to have...Mm, live longer too - less stress. Caution is warranted though. Must also remember our manners, human colonies not used to alien traffic, occasional Quarian, but large groups might cause local populace nervousness - Must say we are a large group of aliens, discretion is best."

Kallic just pondered for a moment; he didn't know why he was telling them this, it was the Captain's job to do that. Also, as a long standing crew member, Chiron already knew all this (not to mention he was one of those aboard that they had to least worry about causing problems. Selia was more likely to head-butt someone than he was!).

"Guess giving you back your weapons was...Mmm, poorly timed. No matter, knowing you have them back should be good enough," he finished, smiling at the young asari. Kallic then proceeded to remove his weapon implements, placing them in a locker in the medbay, locking it up with his Omni-Tool.

((Meh, my posts are turning to juuuunk, must watch some Mordin vids on youtube for inspiration!!! Forgive for the yammery-ness-isms of the post, am/are/is/was tired and not think clearly. Also, forgive yet again for length - JIC! - Don't let this die PK!!!!!! I love ME too much to let you let this die!!!! But knowing you, you won't let it die, you're not the type! And that kiddies, is called brown-nosing! *cheers*

Okay, I'm done with the spazzing, sorry again.))

"I've got work to do, Hudson. I'll talk to you later." the Turian was about to walk off. "Oh, and Hudson: in the future, try not doze off during our crew meetings. You're involved in this just as much as everybody else."

Zack chuckled and nodded to Tuhrop. Even with his helmet on, the turian could tell he was sleeping. He'd either have to do a better job...or actually pay attention.

"This is the captain, we have arrived at the colony and are about to dock. Please get yourselves ready, and keep in mind alliance security protocol forbids bringing weapons into the research facility."

Zack shook his head an let out a very loud sigh. Could this little trip get any worse? First he didn't get to find any work, and now they were going to a human colony...let's not forget the Alliance. Oddly enough it would seem he was thinking the exact same thing Quirnius was. Sure he couldn't bring his weapons...but his biotics were a different story.

"This should be fun," he said.
__________________________________________________ _

Chiron nodded his head at Quirnius's statement. He himself did not have any biotics, but he did have a few tricks up his sleeve.

"I am certain we will be fine, but being cautious is always good. If need be I'm sure I can use my old krogan strength," he said with a smile.

Rogue had been down in the engineering deck when he heard the announcement from Tuhrop. He stopped to analyze every bit of detail. He concluded a second opinion would be the best choice, and who better than the human on the same floor. The geth followed its radar to Tom's location.

"Human:Tom, I have to ask you something. It has been three years since the attack on the citadel, and the geth are no longer a threat. However I am aware you organics can still hold grudges. I believe simply walking off the ship would not be the best COA. Would you recommended I stay aboard the ship, or cloak myself and follow?" Rogue asked.

((haha fear not, Archon. I dont intend on this RP dying - I'm too much inlove with the franchise to let that happen. Besides, you should feel complimented that I actually do read every word of your posts, because your intepretations of salarians are quite interesting to read ))

"Human:Tom, I have to ask you something. It has been three years since the attack on the citadel, and the geth are no longer a threat. However I am aware you organics can still hold grudges. I believe simply walking off the ship would not be the best COA. Would you recommended I stay aboard the ship, or cloak myself and follow?"

Tom turned around from his console to glance at the Geth which stood before him. "Hmm... I can see how this might pose as a problem..." Tom rubbed his chin. "If it just became news to me, the Alliance are not even aware the opposite faction of Geth have been reprogrammed."

He began pacing back and forward. "I dont think following us would be a smart idea. If this is an state of the art Alliance Facility, they are most likely equiped with updated security. They might even be able to detect Geth Infiltration, even if you are cloaked with a Stealth Field Generator..."

Tom thought about what he said, and chuckled sheepishly. "Listen to myself; I'm begining to sound like Kallick. There might be an alternative; you can probably hang around the town, and keep an eye out for suspicious activity outside of the facility. Give us a little heads-up warning if anyone like Cerberus is approaching."

There was a slight turbulance and vibration. The ship had obviously docked. Tom continued his conversation with Rogue.

"Or do you think you can find a way to bypass their security systems undetected? I dont know how you Geth work..."

Rogue processed this information. It could serve as a lookout to the team, and do its best to remain out of sight. It did not wish to harm organics, but the humans might not understand that...and certain actions would have to be taken to ensure Rogue's safety.

"Or do you think you can find a way to bypass their security systems undetected? I dont know how you Geth work..."

If Rogue could laugh, it would have. It was an excellent hacker, and had no doubt it could bypass the security systems.

"I would have no trouble bypassing their systems," Rogue said, in a pleasant tone. "I can also be the lookout for Cerberus," it added in.

"If that is the case..." Tom switched his console off. "If you are confident enough in your skills, I have a job for you."

If this synthetic was confident enough in its abilities, then there may be a way to do both tasks. "I want you to infiltrate the Research Facility. Undetected if possible."

"Then I want you perform an espionage around the base. Find any possible connection to Cerberus. If there is, whether they have been notified of our arival should be relayed to us - give us a little heads-up warning. Understand?" (I'll pm you later Cyborg, for the details ))

The ramp of the Valkyrie descended down onto a platform, opening up the exit. Captain Tuhrop walked from the ramp and onto the metal floor.

The docking platform of the research facility presented a beautiful view of the settlement. Tuhrop could hear the sound of crushing ocean waves surrounding the building. The facility seemed to also act as a lighthouse for the settlement as well, as high above them, Tuhrop could see some type of housed beacon at the top of the tower.

Right before the offshore crew, a systems alliance uniformed representative approached Captain Tuhrop and exchanged a hand.

"We have been looking forward to your arival, Captain Qui'in Tuhrop." she greeted.

Tuhrop accepted the handshake. "I assure you, what we have is legitimate. This is definatly worth your full attention."

He activated his omni-tool, and displayed a holographic representation of the Cerberus Genesis data. The representative rubbed her chin.

"I see... We'll need to fully analyse this data. Why dont you and your crew step inside?"
