Anyway, for some reason, the Dantooine lag fix (Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1) isn't in your swkotor2.ini file under [Graphics Options]. You're also going to have to disable frame buffer objects, shadows, soft shadows and grass.

Most importantly, "GameVersion=v2.00.424" tells me that your game isn't patched correctly. Since you applied the UK patches and got the "insert play disk" message, I'm willing to bet that you have the US version of the game, so try reinstalling again (I know: ), apply the US patch this time, replace the swkotor2.exe with the one that was updated by SecuROM and see if it works then.

i got the same problem and i also tried reinstalling it on the modified way
i got windows 7 if that helps
also my video card was under the recommeded capability
but it was still sufficient.

What are your full system specs? You can search online for a program that will list everything. This is important.

Are you using the disc version of the game? If you are using a pirated version or a No-CD crack then the game will always crash after character creation.

Hai dear Friend, i'm new in here and i want to ask about SWKotor II. Sorry for my bad english and bad introduction.
I'm having a quite a trouble when installing SWKotor 2.
My Laptop Spec:
-VGA: Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family
-Intel Core 2 Duo Processor (1,83 GHz)
-1526MB RAM
-Run in Windows XP

I Installed SWKotor2 with these steps:
-Install the program
-Use latest patch v1.0b
-Copy paste File .exe from Crack files to destination folder
-Run the game

But the game crashed every time i finished create a character. I;ve tried to modified the .ini files, using 3D Analysis, and none of it was successful. I run Kotor I smoothly on the same laptop but Kotor II is definitely a different story. Really Appreciate for the help

Hi new to the forums and all I have to say is this with out a ninvidia gfx card. You whon't get the game to work swkotor does not support intell cipsets of any kind beleve me i've tred ove a 100 times to get it to work on my laptop and it just won't work..

Wrong. I've gotten both games to run just fine on an Intel GPU.
