POKEYMANS 2011 LEVELED UP EDITION (now with racism)
Over the weekend, the LF servers kinda crapped out and despite the valiant efforts of our wonderful network webmistress stoffe (<3), the old pokeymans thread was lost to the internet ether, along with a number of others. So I am resurrecting it!
For those of you who have been living under a rock for the past few months, the newest entries in the long-running Pokemon video game series are coming to the Nintendo DS in North America on March 4, 2011. Pokemon Black and White, while still having the same fundamental gameplay as the original RBY games, bring quite a few new features to the series including improved graphics, new battle types, a new season mechanic, and many others. More information can be found at Bulbapedia and Serebii.
I'm probably going to get the water starter this time, mostly because the Fire option is kinda lame and I'm tired of the whole Fire/Fighting dual type that the most recent generations have done with the starters. And while it does look kinda retarded to start, the final evolution should be all worth it.
I'm a fan of Jalorda and the smugleaf family as a whole, which marks the first time ever in Pokemon i have opted for the grass starter Usually fire is a shoo-in because it's my favourite type, but not this time, because the final form this time... sucks. terrible defense and speed. Glass cannon much? Hrrrmmmm.
Incidentally, that fire moth pokemon? AWESOME. about time the Fire type got some beefing, and there are some seriously cool options this generation. Plus Ninetales gets drought!

edit: Daikenki's moustache is beyond awesome by the way.
My daughter is going to pick one, and I'll pick the other. She thinks it's just awesome that mom trades with her and that we look at the pokemon books together. Yeah, I know we can check out serebii and bulbapedia, but there's something about sitting on the couch together looking through the book that is win.
From MST3K's spoof of "Hercules Unchained"--heard as Roman medic soldiers carry off an unconscious Greek Hercules on a 1950's Army green canvas stretcher: "Hi, we're IX-I-I. Did somebody dial IX-I-I?"
OK, anyone tell me if there is a Pokeymanz Anonymous. I need it.
