One guy just told me there will be new space combat in SWTOR, with all directions flights instead of fly-on-rails. But i can't find any official at least common information about it. Can anyone help me? Or it's just a next rumor without a confirmation?
Oh, i still so hope on a new Star Wars simulator with relatively detailed flight controls, not those stupid arcade flights for feeble-minded kids from kinder garden...

Diablo 3 is fun. Love the fact you can set off dungeon traps to kill MOBs.. and even gain more XP for doing so. Don't like so much the "monsters popping out of the ground" feature. But it dose make it more exciting

Battle is a pure form of expression. It is heart and discipline, reduced to movement and motion. In battle, the words are swept away, giving way to actions-- mercy, sacrifice, anger, fear. These are pure moments of expression.

Well,.. It's big and white and fluffy and floaty and full of data.
Mostly porn and illegally downloaded MP3s.
And it IS quiet here. Maybe... too quiet...
Life keeps going. The weather is better here now. I'm not working as much. Just overseeing maintenance projects at work. Taking tomorrow off, however. Going to go fly a plane.
Seriously. Pics to follow.

All of you guys jonesing for virtual space combat might want to check out a game on Steam called "Moon Breakers," which is multiplayer and free-to-play.

Going to Ocean City for the weekend. I hope they still have the Star Wars Trilogy arcade game on the boardwalk. Playing through it has been an annual tradition for me.

Love that game. I can usually go through the whole thing on one quarter. Tho I often have trouble with the AT-ST and the many waves of TIE Ints at the beginning of the Battle of Endor.
best part is using Wicket to kill Imps on Endor.

Ed that reminds me "Back in the day" my DAD had a Cessna 175 we took around for fly-ins in the early 80s. Even took a trip to Silver dollar City in Missouri, and Mackinaw Island Michigan in the plane. But usually it was to fly-in breakfasts. My wife used to be a pilot and it is one of our dreams to have a plane and fly together

Great day yesterday...in the morning, I was finally able to get over to my sister's and get her printing again from her laptop (she has one of those OfficeJets with wireless capability). Then it was my league banquet in the evening...team didn't win any of the big prizes, but my new female teammate (first league this year) not only won high average in her division, but most improved woman, as well.

It was a pretty good weekend. Nothing epic (except the flight...) but the weather was nice, and things were pretty relaxed.
Spent most of the afternoon yesterday walking around nearby parks with the GF and kids... then went to the shore for great fish & chips, and ice cream.
Back to work now. And the weather is supposed to be lousy here all week.
Oh well... It was fun while it lasted...

Nice flying, Ace.
Ocean City kind of sucked, but I did play through Star Wars. The stick didn't seem right, one of the buttons didn't work, and I don't think there was any sound. But hey, a tradition is a tradition. I wonder if MAME can play that game yet?

edlib, the photos looks just great! How i wish Russia have such of liberal flight laws like the United States has...
Anyway, it hits me right into old wound. 2 years ago we salvaged old abandoned Mi-8 that once belonged to KGB in the Soviet Union and was left to die right in field after the Soviet Union collapse. In fact those helicopter spent more than 15 years under open sky, and the Siberia is not the United States, we sometimes have here +40C at summer and -40C at winter, so i think you can imagine what such of climate can do to any vehicle that is left for at least one year on street. But... it is Mi-8, nothing to break in these crazy mix of high-tech and ease of stone-age! We here find everybody and everything to make it fly again! If i would say we cleaned those helicopter by our tongues, i think it will be not too far from the truth. I was in volunteer team and worked on gas-turbine engines of the helicopter (i was aircraft mechanic when served my draft service in Russian army, so i know this TV3-117 engines like my five), we everybody worked for free there because of only thing we would to get - our own aircraft for flights and parachute jumps. More, when we was needed for new parts, Kazan helicopter plant's workers sent it to us for free! Then we find couple of retired pilots who happily agreed to fly on holidays to lift us up for jumps... but everything FAILED!!!
Ministry of Communications simply rejected to register our helicopter because of... because of they wouldn't do it. They find thousand of reasons to don't do it. FSB (descendant of KGB in Russia) suddenly "awoke" and started to scream "It's our helicopter!"... right after we finished all repairs and maintenance. Well, we asked there "What helicopter?", so they got nothing, but, anyway, bureaucrats simply restricted us to fly.
Last autumn guys from flight club of my hometown took off those Mi-8 illegally and started to make laps around town as action of protest! In result we everybody were arrested and spend some hours in police where policemen said us something like "yes, guys, we can understand you, but also you have to understand us - you have no rights to fly on it until helicopter remains unregistered and you got no of official permission to take off". So our Mi-8 now sleeps in closed hangar and who knows when we should get a chance to fly on it again...
Our wings are still broken.
I took this photo in those day. Helicopter there looks pretty little, but download and enlarge it. You see? It has no signs, no number... from legal point of view these Mi-8 does not exist! And we can't register it... because of our flight law are just ugly.
And another one photo with helicopter very far.

its just clusters of servers acting as one
I was at a MS event last thursday (17th) on the new cloud stuff, especially the 'private cloud' and Azure, basically an internal cloud cluster than hits MS's public cloud when you reach capactiy, its pretty neat stuff

I was mainly amazed that the people trying to sell me on it could not give me a simple explanation of what it is. Back in my day, "cloud computing" meant "distributed computing". It seems marketing people have taken over the term and used it as a snazzier word for "network resources" now.

Got a wheel bearing replaced on my car. Now they are telling me I should replace the drive shaft for $950 because of a noise they are hearing that I brought it in for twice (while it was under warranty) that they were unable to fix both times. F. That.

Yeah... I asked the guy at my shop to check my tire 6 months ago, and he told me they were fine. "Another couple of years, easy..."
Last month after I had that spring replaced, the same guy told me I should get all 4 replaced ASAP!!! PRIORITY ONE!!! OMG!!!!!!
Uhhh... yeah.
It's not really high on my list of things at the moment.
So: Either he never looked at them 6 months ago and lied to me... or he's just looking for more business.
Either way, if they do get replaced anytime soon, it won't be at that shop.

I have a mechanic that I trust with my life. and has never let me down or tried to scam me. in fact, I had trouble with my car dying while driving, and even being hard to start. my mechanic found out it was faulty crank shaft sensor that cost $50.

I used to use a guy like that with my Audi.
The only problem with him was that he also owned and ran a semi-pro race team... So of his season was going well, it might be days before he would look at my car.
He had it locked up in his garage for well over a week one time while he was out west somewhere, and I couldn't get ahold of him.
But he did great work for cheap when he was around. But just not reliable enough to trust with a car I now need every day.

18 bands from 14 grade schools. I started at 8 this morning... just ended. My jobs today were herding cats and polishing turds.
Yay for long weekends. This one has already been plenty long already.
