Annual company review at work this morning. Apparently last year was our best year ever, so I guess it will be good news.

We have to give back 5% from all our departmental budgets this year, and cut next year's budgets by 15% or so.
So our financial news isn't as cheery, I guess.

I have nothing good to say to what ed just said.
Reminds me of a town meeting nearby where the City mayor complains about having to make budget cuts, yet fails to see he has a staff of 6 that all make six figures in gross income. This is a place that has a population of less then 10,000

Well... the college is overextending itself at the moment.
We just opened a satellite campus in Spain, and are in the process of building a new 20+ story tower in one of the most expensive areas of Boston.
Too much money going out for what we are bringing in.

...... I don't understand?
No, seriously, I also do not care about the Phantom Menace in 3D. Partially because I can't watch 3D movies with out serious headache afterwards.

Not at all.
I was half toying with the idea of seeing Red Tails... but I'm not all that excited about that one either. I just don't have that much free time or money to bother to go see movies I'm feeling rather "Meh" about...
Frankly... I doubt there's anything that is going to get me into a theater before Batman or The Hobbit.

same here Ed. I stopped going to the theater since I moved. After about 20 minutes my brain gets too tired and doesn't bother rendering the 3D. Tho I will make an exception for a movie that deserves to be watched in the Theater
found this gem. Funny series of SW related comics done rather well

i'd like to see it in 3d..a good excuse to use my military discount.
Battle is a pure form of expression. It is heart and discipline, reduced to movement and motion. In battle, the words are swept away, giving way to actions-- mercy, sacrifice, anger, fear. These are pure moments of expression.

OK...
MOAR.
I just wish I had more to say... and more free time to say it in.
Had a physical this afternoon. The first trip to the doctor's in... a long time.
Mostly OK. Blood pressure on the slightly higher side of normal. Need to lose weight, exercise more, cut down salt and caffeine, yada yada...
Nothing I didn't already know.
They want to remove a mole from my shoulder. Sounds fun.

Just about finished Fallout 3 with the DLCs. Been doing "Operation: Ancorage" which is a video game inside the video game dealing with the Chinese invasion of Anchorage. Just running around sneaking and sniping everything.
Tempted to get Skyrim later. Nice to actually own a computer now that can play these newer games

Yeah, I just got an email saying since it had been awhile since I had been on here they decided to put me out to pasture. I guess if you don't check in often enough you get the boot. I know the they talked about it before but Ike stood up for me that time. maybe he got over ruled this time.
Some one just had it in for me...
Anyways. I'm all up for the new 3D SW. I remember going in April of 99 when it opened. We took my son to the 4AM showing. He was 3 weeks old..
We just saw Hugo in 3D... It was pretty cool. Except it cost $50 for the 4 of us...

Yeah... a night at the movies got a bunch more expensive for me with the lady and her kids.
I don't do it much anymore. I wait for "event" movies these days to make the trip and the expense really worth it. The last Pirates movie is the last one I can remember seeing on the big screen.
Besides: My HDTV and sound system is much better than what I find in most theaters (other than the most modern/ expensive ones...) and my den is a lot more comfortable.
Plus: I LOOOOOVE the power of "Pause."

At work sometimes the managers hand out movie passes so when it's just me and the wife we use those. What is worse then paying for the movie is the cost of the popcorn and pop...

Me too. I was a senior in high school at the time, and I was so excited for a new Star Wars movie. And the hype was absolutely ridiculous. A bunch of my friends and I saw it on opening day. It wasn't...the best, but I was so excited I didn't even really notice that at the time. Even today, I consider Phantom Menace the best of the prequels, actually. I have such good memories of the lead-up to the movie and seeing it for the first time. I saw it again later with my girlfriend, and again with my family. In a way it was like...the end of my childhood. Shortly thereafter I left for college. By the time Attack of the Clones came out I was over my head in engineering studies, I had practically no social life, and life was just a whole lot less pleasant.
There were some good games to come out from that movie too, like Battle for Naboo and Racer. And of course, XWA came out right before then as well. Those were truly some great gaming days.
And then...this forum was at its strongest point

I bought tickets the day before and invited a couple of friends to join me. I was kind of disappointed in TPM since it seemed to be a "Look what I can do now" type of movie. I actaully have a copy of the first draft of the prequal, and it was a lot bettter, and more interesting. Basically Qui-gon/Obi-wan were hiding Anakin and the opening scene is Troops landing while they looked on, knowing the troops were there to take anakin.

Actually, I literally could not understand what he was saying the first time I saw the movie, and that was a problem.

Yeah, he said a lot of stuff that was so bad it made you wince...but as I have discovered with my nephew, little kids do that in REAL LIFE
But yes, I think it's pretty clear the story should have started when Anakin was older...where he should have not been played by Haydn Christiansen.

The story didn't make any sense, didn't answer any questions, and was essentially devoid of anything except generic angst. It was short. And it wasn't as good as the original. Like I said, I don't think it was a bad game, but it was disappointing.
