Exclamation Intel HD chipset crash after character creation

Just as the title states Im one of the unfortunate people that have this problem for KOTOR 2.

Ive previously installed the game using the instructions in the forum on this website. Things ive tried ;
utilizing the .dll fix
updating to patch 1.0a then 1.0b
utilizing the securom exe (even tried contacting securom with my analysis file attached to my email over 2 months ago with no response from them even though ive emailed them over 3 times)

I also looked in to changing my filpping policy to "BLIT" but I have some newer intel graphic drivers so I cant do that obviously. Im currently doing a fresh reinstall right now with all the fixes applied except the securom exe. I can post any needed information such as my computer specs.

I really appreciate the help from anyone, from what ive seen though "Q" on here you can probably help me out more than anyone. If you could lend me a hand id be very grateful I LOVE this game and used to have it for xbox but I lent me copy out a while back and never saw it again.

OK just successfully installed the game again I will await further instruction as to what I do this time. I havent used the patches or anything.

Just for the heck of it I tried using that starting save with the consular and it froze as soon as I loaded the save...

Did you install the game according to the large-print instructions at the top of the second post in this thread? If so, there are specific instructions there regarding Intel GPUs.

You should post any KotOR on Vista/7 questions there, BTW.

"They should rename the team to the Washington Government Sucks. Put Obama on the helmet. Line the entire walls of the stadium with the actual text of the ACA.
Fix their home team score on the board to the debt clock, they can win every game 17,000,000,000,000 to 24. Losing team gets taxed by the IRS 100%, then droned."

yes Q I did. since I already made this thread what should I do about that? I followed the specific instruction outlined for the intel GPU's 4 times now with the same result every time. just tell me the info you need and I can post it to whichever thread I need to, in order to continue this.

Try using the game's configuration utility to post your system specs:

Sometimes we're just not going to be able to help you if we don't know what kind of hardware you have on your machine. If you don't know what you have on your machine, then follow these steps below:
  • If you're using Vista or Windows 7, go into your game folder, find "launcher.exe" and right-click on it. Select "properties", then "compatibility" and check the box beside "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)". Then check the box next to "Run this program administrator" and hit "OK". (EDIT by Q)
  • Bring up the launcher menu for Kotor 1 or 2 (by running "launcher.exe").
  • Click on "Configure".
  • Click the "Scan Hardware" button on the lower center of the window.
  • Click "Yes" to continue.
  • Click "Details" to view your system specs.
  • Click "Save Report" and save the file to your desktop.
  • Whenever you post your problem, open the file you just saved and copy and paste the contents to your post.
You can leave out the keymapping and everything after that.
