Dialog mishap

Hey,

So my problem is that Ive installed TSL and it was working fine until a few hours ago. It started to skip all the dialog scenes, taking me straight to my response to what the character had said. Since I had played the game several times in previous years, I could kind of navigate my way around the game how I wanted it to progress (light/dark side, companion influence, etc..) but it is rather annoying. Just skips everything they say, sort of like it fast forwards. Anyway, Im not terribly adept at working with computers, but know well enough to follow instructions. Any help given would be greatly appreciated.

Yes this has happened to me plenty of times. I've always just restarted the game - or my computer if the game was obstinate...

Now I haven't played KotOR 2 in a while, so I don't remember exactly how I fixed it - or if I even bothered to fix it at all. But I read this thread, and apparently the issue comes from your computer's memory prioritizing graphics over the game's other facets. It hints at upgrading your computer, but I never did that to fix this issue. I guess logically speaking, if you don't want to go through the trouble of upgrading your computer, lowering your game's graphics options should help resolve the issue.

I believe it actually is just an engine issue (similar to how sound effects sometime cut out after some hours of playing) and can be resolved by simply restarting the game.
