Your favorite planet in KotOR?
Hey all,
I got to thinking today about what my favorite planet in KotOR is, and I would have to say Manaan because of the peaceful tranquility and amazing view. I spent a part of my life up until now near the ocean and I've always loved the water.
So, what's your favorite planet in KotOR?

Uh... Wrong section. Republic Newsfeed is where this belongs.
But my two favorites are Tatooine and Korriban. Tatooine is awesome because it reminds me of the movies somewhat. In Korriban, I love the whole idea of basically infiltrating the Sith Academy.
My least favorite was Manaan. It has its good parts, but I hated the entire underwater sequence.

Dantooine and the Unknown World. I can't get enough of Dantooine for some reason; maybe it's just a reaction to the nasty cesspit that was Taris.

In K1 I really liked the third planet.
In K2 the fourth one was by far my favourite.
I mean, after you actually get to chose where you go. I'm not counting the planets you don't get to chose.

I'd say Taris because it reminds me of Coruscant by its appearance and Manaan because it's clean and seems like a great place to visit.

I was gripped by Taris when I first picked up this game.
In the next KotOR, we should return.

Kashyyyk was definitely my favorite. I also liked Taris. Hated Manaan, or more the Selkath.

Favorite - Taris. Loved the "Coruscant-esque" look to it, and there was a fairly nice variety in environments (majestic cityscapes, dirty, thug-ridden streets, mutant infested wastelands, etc.).
Least Favorite - Tatooine. Why is this sparsely populated, backwater planet in what seems to be every damn Star Wars story to date?

Taris. Because the place is really the Coruscant of the Outer Rim, and it constantly changing, no matter how insignificant is the stuff you do.
"Hey there and welcome to the Equipment Emporium!" Kebla's welcome you.
"I'd like to see your wares." You
"Sure thing... Eh, just so you might know, the Sith have confiscated all my speeders and ships since you've eaten that Dianoga-soup on Javyyar's... Well'p, I stil have a nice selection of permacrete detonators you may use to save Matrik's ass!" Kebla's.
Then comes Manaan. It's actually the best damn place for actual RPing and a unique place: Sith and Republic co-existing.

Dantooine is my favorite taris would be but i thought it was not bustling enough needed more people same problem as NS in K2, Tatooine would also be up there had it been bigger much bigger.
This is a story you will tell your grandchildren; and mightily bored they'll be.

Taris and Korriban for me. I loved how diverse Taris was with the upper city, lower city, and undercity. Korriban was the most exciting world IMO. Infiltrating the sith acadamy and slaughtering them all (especially that stupid Lashowe) was very satisfying.

I think for myself, I would choose Dantooine- pre destruction by Malak, please? I always felt it a somewhat peaceful place. I really do wish they would show more of that world, I just always felt it was too closed.
I secondly chose Manaan. I like it, the atmosphere, the beautiful gazes and such, and the endless city which I always get lost in...I like its size, and I also hate it. Am I the only one that finds it confusing? The Selkath...they angered me at times, but unlike most people, I didn't really hate them.

I wouldn't compare Taris with Nar Shadaa at all. IMNSHO, Taris is what the Smuggler's Moon should have been.

Not at all, friend. The stores, the hotel, the court, and Ahto, of course. I normally feel like on a MMO when on Manaan.

My favorite planet is Dantooine. Like Meowster said, its very tranquil and VERY calming... just the place where any Jedi should be if they feel the lure of the darkside.

Always fancied Dantooine till recently. After my last few playthroughs I've come fond of good ole Taris.
By far the largest of the planets and it's really more of a challenge than the others since (without mods) you're still not a jedi and don't have the fancy weapons/armor yet... more of a challenge since you don't have your entire crew to compliment you.

Taris for me. It does remind me of Coruscant that's the good thing about it. The only thing I did not like about Taris was the sewers where you find Zalbaar.

Taris is my favorite, because I'm a city person and it's the first planet you go to, so when I was there I was still overawed by how cool the game was. I still loved the game when I got to the Rakatan world, but I'd gotten more used to the awesomeness.
I also liked Manaan, because I actually liked the Selkath. Don't see what everyone has against them.
And third place for me would be Korriban, because you can infiltrate the Sith Academy even as a LS character. I mean, how cool is that?

Their speech was 100% annoying. Especially the unskippable message telling you the cameras were shut off. That wasn't even necessary at all.
Personally, I kind of dislike speaking to any alien in the KotOR games. It may sound racist (for you weird people ), but it made me actually have to read what the person is saying, not to mention skip the rest of the line once I finished it. It's not like I have any trouble reading, but I prefer just to listen to it.
Besides, all of the alien speech was just like 30 seconds of jibber-jabber that was continually repeated through the entire game.

Alien speech did get boring after hearing it over and over, but I still liked Selkath speech. I always wondered, "How in the world did sound guys make that sound for the game?"

Definately Tatooine + Taris. For Taris, although it gets boring quite fast for the veteraned player, is designed very well and displays the Dystopian society in the world of Star Wars. Then you get to see it torn apart by the sith like the bung-hole it is. Oh joy.
Tatooine also made it, because it's Tatooine. Being able to Swoop Race in the sands and slaughter Tuskens makes the time there enjoyable. And the Sandcrawlers to die for!

I like it as my... Third favorite place. The Sandpeople story, Czerka, jawas, HK-47! Damn, it's no fair disliking tatooine because "It's on almost every Star Wars game". The only real negative point is the endless walking on the uninteresting Sea Dunes.
