(Zanzibar) Work Experience
Long Version:
Next April, I will have to complete two weeks of Work Experience. Most people do something local, i.e. Newspaper or Grocery Stores. However, there’s always someone who gets to do something really cool like go on tour with the Formula 1 racing teams. I would like to be one of those people. Zanzibar, is there any chance that Big Ape Productions would allow me to work (for free) there for a couple of weeks to see how much work goes into making games? Even though I live in the UK, I would be happy to pay a couple hundred bucks to get to California.
Short Version:
Hey Zanzibar, can I have a job for a couple of weeks? Please?

In all honesty, I don't know if it would be a good idea. Big Ape is a pretty small company, and having "interns" and so forth means a good deal of supervision that quite simply we don't have the time to do.
You want a REALLY good work experience in the games industry? See if you can work the floor at E3 next May. Setup/Teardown, ushering, runners etc. etc. there's a MILLION jobs available. I have NO IDEA who you'd contact, but try www.e3expo.com and see if that works.

E3 is the Electronics Entertainment Exposition, where all the game companies come once a year to show off their new stuff. Some of it is crap, some of it is quite impressive, and the booth babes are absolutely magnificent
Gonna be in LA next year, and I bet it's gonna stay in LA until further notice.

Oh, and that's what LucasArts@E3 is all about...
I understand now, I thought it was just a LucasArts thing, but A convention???
Do you know if Episode II will be shot in London as well as Tunisia, Sydney and Spain?

Tom: Episode II has finished filming, and it was shot in Australia, not England.
Zanzibar: Thanks anyway, I'll talk to someone at E3. Will Big Ape be there to show off Simpsons Wrestling?

Bah! "E3 is a trade event. No one under 18 will be admitted (including infants)." Another dream gone. Guess I'm stuck working at Verwood FM (No offense, Tom!)

Simpsons Wrestling is supposed to be done this Christmas, so no, you won't see us at E3 next year. We were there this year tho, with an early version.
Hopefully, next year we'll be down there with something a bit cooler

Can't wait until I'm 18. Then I'm going to E3 and see some booth babes!
Tell us about your plan, Dave!
And welcome back, Matt!

Oh, alright
I'm off to Orlando during Halloween, and I've set up a meeting with someone at Universal Studios, Florida. Hopefully I can work behind the scenes on movies.
