To All: I'm back!
Ahhh, it feels good to rise up from the dead. I still play TPM occasionally. I see that Zanzibar and Dave Maul are still around, but what about Saesee Tom, Master Qui-Gon and all the rest of them have gone?
Any updates on that Mace Windu patch?

Tom went solo with his own forum (see one of his last posts for a link). Master Qui-Gon has just returned kind of, but he's now based over at the Council Of Jedi. Same for Kanigget on the JPB forum. I have my own forum still (see my sig), but I've never left here since I joined. Nice to see you again JMMW.

One of the patches Zanzibar made was a Mace Windu one. See a recent post for a link to the petition.

Most have left for the Council Of Jedi (Master Qui-Gon) or my forum (Darth Simpson). I suggest everyone follows suit.

I wasn't sure if I could mention religious comments on the forum, but it stands for For The Love Of God.

I live to give!
Could I just say, I announce my triumphant return to these boards (well, check mine out too!) because the people on here... they are the most polite, friendly and generally the best people who I have ever talked to.

Well, if there is one reason why I should want a PS2, it's the SW-games, and Metal Gear Solid 2.

The way I see it, the PS2 is a system with potential. It already has Sony's name and well-known reputation behind it, but I have yet to see any games that peak my interest for the system (I've seen some nice graphics demonstrations, but where's the gameplay?). In time, it may seem sweeter as the game library grows and as the technology is optimized in the games, etc.
For now, as a gamer, the DC (though the word is that production of the units will stop by the end of March, with games will still forthcoming.. but that means slashed prices, woo hoo!), looks to me like a better buy.
It has more (and to my mind better) games overall, is more affordable, though power-wise perhaps it isn't as "impressive" sounding as the PS2.

Those rumours of the DC are all rubbish! I've read them too, and one site, Sega was so kind enough to explain, and they say that it's all rubbish! So there.

Nope, they are stopping the production of Dreamcast. They will stil support the console, and wil work on implemeting DC technology in other products.
So they have to sell out 2 million Dreamcast's, and therefore they are slashing the price to $99. Don't worry, DC still has plenty of games coming out, including Shenmue II, which is set for a November US release!
Head over to http://dc.ign.com to have a look.

*rips out all his hair while screaming: "Noooooooo!!!!" really Luke-like* Shenmue 2 has an "early 2002" release date. Good thing I have a DC, they could become rare if simpson is right. (hmmm... should I put a or a for this)

Here's the email I recieved, when I asked them about what would be happening to SegaNet:

Thank you for e-mailing Sega Technical Support.
Sega is committed to Dreamcast and still has plans to develop for the platform. In fact, we have more than 30 DC games worldwide that will come out this year, many which are exclusive content. We will also have top games such as ShenMue 2, Sonic Adventure 2, and Crazy Taxi 2, for the Dreamcast. Exclusive content is key for gamers and we are also looking at additional content to bring the platform on an exclusive status. We are committed to the Dreamcast, as long as there is still consumer demand for the games. We also have a number of third party publishers who are committed to the Dreamcast platform, including Capcom, Crave, UbiSoft, and others.
As you know, Sega.com is a separate company. They will be unveiling their plans for SegaNet at a later date. However, at this point we can tell you that Sega of America still believes in online console gaming, and we have a number of online games shipping this year such as the recent release of Phantasy Star Online. We will still continue to develop online games not only for Dreamcast, but also for other systems as other hardware company's online plans become apparent. If you have any other questions, feel free to e-mail us back.
To get the maximum gaming experience, we strongly recommend only using Sega licensed products, such as controllers.
To get hooked up with one of our online games, or to preorder upcoming releases, visit our online store at www.sega.com/sega/segastore!

The official press was that official production of Dreamcast Units would cease as of March 31st, 2001. However that doesn't mean that Dreamcast technology, or games will cease.
