in a perfect world
angsty poetry
would still exist
therefore a perfect world
is an impossiblility
as though pigs
became aviary
like you after
I punch you in the
neck. because that
would be perfect for
me.
thank you.
note: this poem has nothing to do with the posters at GFN or anyone on the internet at all. really.

a poetic phone conversation
oh my god, this war
on terrorism is
gonna rule! I
can't wait until this
war is over and there's
no more terrorism!
i know! remember when
the u.s. had a drug problem,
and then we declared a war
on drugs, and now you
can't buy drugs anymore?
it'll be just like that!
right! god, if only
the war on drugs hadn't
been so effective! i
could really use some
****ing marijuana
right about now!
thank you.

poetic liscence is acceptable
but angst ridden poetry
or angst riddled poetry
would have served the sentiment
in a more deep and profound manner.
if your poem had been more
Suessian in nature the angsty
would have flavoured the thought
perfectly.
*note this is not criticism
merely from one Beatnik to another
an observation*

I too have a deep and meaningful prose poem to share. Came to me just yesterday, it did.
----------------------------------------------
I LIKE COPS
----------------------------------------------
I like cops
I wanted to be one
I strove to become one
I set out to become one
I tried my best to become one
I nearly was one
They wouldn't let me be one
It was a technicality for christ's sake!
I ****ing hate cops
----------------------------------------------
That's the about best I can do. I wonder what's wrong with me. Maybe I'm just lazy.
Jolly good.

Gendo's poem revised
I LIKE COPS,
so what you gonna do
what you gonna do
when they come for you?
I like cops
I wanted to be one
I strove to become one
I set out to become one
I tried my best to become one
I nearly was one
They wouldn't let me be one
It was a technicality
for christ's sake!
I ****ing hate cops
(now I just watch
the Rockford Files.)
sorry Gendo just joshing you

This is the night. This is the end of one hope, the dawn of another . This is the beginning of all that may yet be. This is solitude. This is moonlight. This is the darkness.

the Blue casket is getting
a lot more thread traffic
and older threads are dissapearing
I think we should all collectively
post in one thread to keep our poems
alive and online. I have started
a thread called More Or Less Poetry.
It is also a place for giving
poetry lessons, and for sharing
poetic devices.
If you wish to insure your words
poetic posterity, transfer them
over into this thread. that way
we all can keep the thread alive
and kicking.
